    I work in this field. All too common to see employees who act like they rule the roose, and disregard the preferences or needs of the clients. It's not about us. It's about the people we support. We're there for them. Period.

      I too work in this field and to be honest from my experience it ultimately depends on the reason the support worker in their role...I worked as a support worker and would NEVER do it again!... I met too many support workers who were clearly there just to "have a good time" for their own benefit...sad really...

      It is about the client yet as carers we do need to protect ourselves and withdraw when required. Organizations that employ are also part of this protection process. There are instances whereby there are challenges for sure.
