I have 2 Akitas a male and female. This video is SPOT ON. GREAT GUARD dogs...no need to train for protection. Can be VICIOUS w people or other animals but....LOVING w their pack/families. Best all around dog I have owned. The biggest down side is the SHEDDING..arghhh (grins). I have 2 robot vacuums I run DAILY just to keep up w the hair... Also..they don't bark until there is a THREAT. They guard house/ property 24/7. Best to treat them like loaded guns around other animals and people outside of pack/family. Big playful TEDDY BEARS with their families though!

I have sister rotties (11months old) I did puppy training when they were 4 months. they both love to chew on everything and they both have different personalities. I recommend socializing as much as possible and lots of exercise and you'll have great results 👍

Our American Akita passed away at six years of age from diabetes, but he was so sweet. He loved the dogs that he was raised around in our house.

I guess my akita breaks the rules lol, when out shes a social butterfly with strangers as soon as they do the oh look in a nice voice shes straight over for attention but completely different in my car or home, she also lives with my sons female shepard who she was not raised with she was 2 when they first met and she also lives with cats one she was raised with from a pup the other she first met at 2 she loves all my family when they visit including the baby granddaughter , her downside reactive on lead to other dogs but more i wanna say high but she looks aggressive which ive been told by her trainers she is not

We have an American bulldog who has just turned one. We’re thinking of getting her company as of a night time she is incredibly needy, it’s because I’m home all day so when everyone has gone to bed she gets upset and starts to destroy things. She’s fantastic with other dogs and our cats but I do think she needs company of another dog. I’ve been researching Rottweilers and I think they’d be good together. I wanted to wait until our ambull has finished with dog training first so that it’s easier to train the new puppy.

I'm an American and have moved to Thailand. The Thais have a different take on dogs. It's not uncommon to see dogs laying in the streets because Thais don't take responsibility for the dogs. My girlfriend and I walk in the early mornings every day for fitness. I count between 20 and 30 dogs laying on the beach and road within about a mile of that walk. No matter where I drive in Thailand it is common to see dogs laying in the street.

My rottie was just a big clumsy comedian, that sleep at the door of my daughters room from the time she was born. Only problem he would get to playing with her and knock her down. Like I said clumsy. She would just laugh. He was way over a 100lbs and ripped from running in the pasture and swimming in the pond. He loved swimming in the pond, do not know if that's normal for a rottie but he did love it. Highly recommend this dog breed to anyone that will spend time with it. They really do not like being left alone for long.

Mu buddy Baldurdash ("Dash" for short) is a Norwegian Elkhound, loves everybody. The breed is highly intelligent and active, and can be challenging for some people, but 'Dash and i understand each other. I feed him and he's my heating pad and exercise coach. When he joined me I already had his great-great grandmother (had both together for three years), and I'd had her great-aunt before. I will never willingly give him up, and I have made plans for his care returning him to the kennel where he was born if the time should come that I can't care for him, and if the breeder isn't able to care for him she has a caregiver chosen. If all else fails, I have a cousin who is familiar with the breed and is willing to care for him.

My dog likes to play " chew papa." Usually I'm bitten because I grab her feet or back fat or pet too vigorously. She has perfect control of bite strength.
