Reworking someone's childhood bag into something she can wear as an adult!
I have recently been tasked with reworking this bag that Cait made with her grandmother as a child. I love the idea of recreating this bag into something that she can start to enjoy again now. I did hit a few snags along the way, but I'm happy with how the bag turned out in the end.

My Drawstring bag tutorial. Here are all the measurements you will need to make this bag.( As I am clearly an airhead loon, I do seem to just say any old random number as I'm filming. So please use these measurements and ignore anything I say that differs to these!) Top Fabric - 37cm x 56cm Lining Fabric - 37cm x 38cm Straps 2 x 2m (4m in total) The eyelets that I demo'd in this vid are Prym 11...

Thank you for being real this is what making is all about.... designing, re designing, cutting, sewing, and more unpicking. I had a day like that today in the sewing room. You did well the bag looks great and the pattern is a success.
It looks great . Well done !
I throughly enjoyed this video , it’s really great to see how you work through the challenges and you are a master of many trades you always pull it out the bag in the end! Personally, I really like the unpolished raw videos I think you’re doing a great job and it feels like I’m sitting in the craft room with you while you tell me all about your mishaps that we can all relate to, it highlights real life situations! Look forward to the next one but please don’t feel pressured 😊 x
Somedays the sewing gods are not with you. Great bag nevertheless.
Those fabrics are amazing 🤩
How fun! I'm sure the postman is curious 😂
Great tutorial, lovely bag
@@angelalysandrou4830 thank you!! 😊
Great job and so many tips for making a circular bag. I love the tapestry front, especially the story behind it.
Oooh! What a box of fun! Can't hardly wait to see what you create with those great prints.

Fabulous! Love the waxed fabric combo
Just me jumping straight on tube to see if there was Friday video 😂 it’s what I look forward to all week ❤
@@shayj4312 oh that’s so sweet! Sorry I want able to post a longer vid last week! X
@@ParrotandParsnip-q9s Aww no worries, life gets in the way sometimes but it just means I will be eagerly awaiting the next one 😬 x
@ there’ll be one tomorrow xx
@@ParrotandParsnip-q9s just brightened up my day yay 🙌, looking forward to it x
I borrowed my sister's bumbag and it was super handy so bought a tiny bag that just fits my phone, small purse and small book
@@bertiesgirl1 yes I think small bags are the way forward too!
The hexies are English paper piecing. You cut out the hexagon around the cardboard/paper, glue it down and then hand sew the hexies together :-)
I almost bought the bestie bag pattern but hesitated as they were a bit bigger than what I wanted. This is exactly the size I’d use so I’ve bought it. 😍 I now have 3 different style bags lined up for my Christmas holiday project 🥳😁
Your back packs are stunning! I’m definitely getting more interested in bag making and storing bits to have a good Christmas bag fest. So pleased you decided to start a TH-cam channel and share your experience & ideas. ❤
I definitely will be trying Overlocker unpicking this way next time… give it 10 mins 🤣🤣

I’ve been looking for an easy to follow tutorial to make a drawstring backpack for my Gift to November vlog and loved yours. Actually ended up binge watching all your videos as I’m off work today & feeling a bit under the weather. I think I’m going to pop over to your shop now…love the slouch bag ❤️👍😍
@@Julie_sews_her_own_clothes 🥳 thanks for watching! Let me know how you get on with the slouch bag too! 😊😊

@@judyriddell thanks so much!! 💕
Brilliant x
Another great tutorial, I can relate to the random measurements 😅 except I have thought the right ones then cut the wrong 😂 thank you for sharing hope to give this one a try soon too. ❤
@@shayj4312 😂 I’m glad you can relate! I had to film that insert bit twice too, even though I was reading it from my notes I said it wrong again 🙈
You are so genuine. I love your videos. Such a lovely gift, how thoughtful x
Aw! Love this! How sweet 💜
🥳🥳♥️
Hi, excellent tutorial. Can I ask what size eyelet seter tool do you have?
@@yasminhussain40 hi, I’m not sure actually, it would have been the one that goes with 1cm eyelets. I think if you select the eyelet size on the website it should tell you with setter you need 🤞🤞
Thanks for the tutorial and providing measurements. You do a great job of being "natural" on camera😊
Lovely
Anna, it is so refreshing to hear someone talking about all us smaller businesses being collaborators against the big guys, rather than competition for each other... thank you!
