You know what? I bought a sweater in a Chinese shop a week ago. Three days later, there was a hole under one arm where the two seams of the side and sleeve joined, so I had to mend it myself. So it’s a little ridiculous for the Chinese to purport to be experts at mending, because too often, their slave labor factories produce crappy, badly made export goods for us westerners to use and wear for minimal times before they literally fall apart. If we’re going to bring manufacturing home, let’s start with clothing! Yes, it will carry a bigger retail price,, but it will cost less over time, because it will last for years, maybe decades, the way clothes used to when I was young!
