Excelente work. 🙂
Pieces of a puzzle. I am Linwood Colpritt III. I was raised in St. George. A old Native stronghold in the 1700’s. My father told my through family legend. That Amos was a carriage driver for Henry Knox. He would drive him to Washington to meet with George Washington. He was a close trusted friend of General Knox. That’s way he gave him land. My grandmother on that side was a little black lady with a glass eye. From Petersboro as a child. And Rockland as a adult. Also spending much time at the junk yard in Portland. The name Colpritt does not exist. Unless there related to me. As it was a fabricated name. The closest thing I’ve heard and found. Is Colpit lake in Halifax Canada. And a ancestor Most likely Indian. Sailed with a French sea captain from there to St. Kitts. He most likely changed his name to Colpritt to save his life. It’s all connected. God bless you for your work. Stephen Hopkins is my 13th great grandfather , the only person who can say that they lived in Jamestown and Plymouth colonies !!! I forgot which side he's on though as I'm a Mayflower descendant through both my mother and father
I was wondering what , if any information , you might have on the Thomas and/or Greer families of Belfast , Morrill and Belmont ? My great grandmother , Frances Thomas , was born in Belfast around 1895 , I know that her husband , Ora Charles Heath was born in Orono in 1895 . I'd really love some information on my 4th great grandfather , James Greer , Sr , he was born in Stafford, Vermont in 1799 and died in Belmont, Maine in 1844 , I've been trying to find his parents for years to no avail
Great Presentation Rick! Thank you for explaining so much.
