When I try to connect my caliper to my Samsung mobile with the Sylvac Anywhere software installed, it somewhat connects to it, but it does not confirm the connection. Here is the procedure: I pressed MODE four times until it said "bt" Then pressed SET one time so it said "On" Then I shortly pressed the bluetooth bottom at the top, so the bluetooth symbol flashed. A little later the phone did find the caliper. On the phone, I then pressed on SY295 (which it had just found). At this point a never ending cycle started: It said "Connecting SY295" accompanied by a search live icon. Regularly it said "Couldn't pair with SY295". I tried to reload the app but after restarting it, the never ending cycle was still there. I tried to uninstall/install the app. The whole procedure ended in the same way; with the never ending cycle. Whether the blutooth function actually works on this caliper I cannot know. I can say that I have never experience something like this before in regard of bluetooth connection problems. And even if it is possible by another procedure to connect the caliper to a mobile, I would say that if a gadget in this price category is not frustration free, the concept it relies on, is defective. I mean, the time you use on it and the frustration it generates is regrettable, whether the instrument is de facto defective or equipped with a labyrinthine and esoteric path you need to guess to make it work. Besides, basically this caliper is not as precise as for instance my Mitutoyo CD-P15P, which is flawless on both of its decimals while it is measuring gauge blocks. And this is all over its scale. On the contrary, this instrument is not reliable to that degree on the scale above 100.000 mm. It measures 100.000 til be 100,007 (compared to 100,00 for Mitutoyo) and 150,000 to be 150,013 (compared to 150,00 for Mitytoyo). This caliper costs more than 50% compared to the mentioned Mitutoyo. It has a better screen and it looks brilliant. I would prefer bottons that you can easily avoid to press unintentioanlly (like on Mahr 16ER), but except from that, the design and the whole feel of the instrument, is so brilliant. But unfortunately the bluetooth concept is not good and most importantly, even if there is a way through this, the fundamental preciseness of the instrument makes it questionable if there is a reason for third decimal.
