Batman failed the test of emotions. His biggest drive is his trauma. Without emotions, his trauma would fade until he becomes a shell of who he used to be. Instead, he used those emotions to better himself for others sakes. He is compassionate, empathetic and caring. He's not a brute punishing the wicked, he's a man sending a message. He wants people to know he's out there and that there's nowhere to hide, that he is fear. You can't control how you feel, only how you act or react.
