Prius module on Imax B6 - redux

This video is obsolete, please watch th-cam.com/video/uZB3uJi9bbM/w-d-xo.html My first try at reviving the NiMH modules of a 2006 Toyota Prius battery, with an Imax B6 (clone) charger. In the advanced settings, I have it set to the default Delta V, and 7500ah safety as suggested on Prius Chat. Each module of the Gen 2 Prius battery contains 6 cells in series, and there are 28 modules also in se...

bugger this charger appears to be discontinued. In this boat now needing to try get some prius modules back in action, or at least diagnose the bad ones.

Nobody cares about all what you paid for the chargers and how many miles the car had. How did you hook all this up. I see you have 15 and 25 volt versions. Are they for 2 and 3 module packs? No clue what you're doing.

Modules should never be charged/discharged out of the rigid fram in the HV pack. This is to avoid distorting the module.

If its 4.56 gears and you have at least 28 inch tires, you should be doing over 100 if you have it tached up to 4000 rpm.

I recommend Blue Bear 500MR. It's made from soy beans, has a non-offensive citrus scent, and works great. Spray or pour it on, let it sit for a couple of hours (adding more if it dries out), then using a long-handled squeegee or scraper, push the liquid mastic into a pile of clay-based kitty litter, and scoop the litter into garbage bags. Finally, rinse with a bucket of water and TSP.

Does the charge reaching 9.0 volts have to hold for a specific time to be considered charged up or can we manually hit discharge as soon as it reaches the 9.0 volts?

Hello with these setting on my first module I tried i get my module a little bit inflated. I see some people holding the module squeesed between to pieces of wood... If i squweeze it now it returns to its original size... Do i have to throw it? ... I set charge in auto 5.0 Amp like in the video and i observed 5 amps while charging, I expected 1 or 2 amp adjusting automatically but was 5 amp all the time... Maybe should I limit it to 2 amp charge? Thanks in advantadge

Recommend to only charge an uncompressed battery at 0.3 amps or less for safety and results in no bulging battery. I use an iMax B6 rc charger.

I’m dealing with a similar challenge in my 63 Nova. 327 & a TH350. I don’t know for certain what’s in the differential, but from the factory (and it’s an original axle, of that I’m certain) it had a 3.08, and I know it’s not posi or LSD. - it leaves 1s, not 11s. The engine is strong and trans shifts smoothly, but in 3rd (top), I’m turning 4200rpm at 70mph. Also power seems to drop off around 3600-3800. I recently put a new carb on (Holley 1460 600cfm, as the old Carter was shot), so it could be jets. And there’s no mark/strip on the balancer, so I can’t check timing, but again, she starts easily and runs well until I start pushing her. Top speed right now (“Captain, I’m givin’ her all she’s got!”) is about 77-78mph.

People also ask Is HobbyKing legit? They are a cheap China direct RC seller. You are not going to get ANY customer service. You are going to wait upwards of a month for your stuff to arrive. Some of it may be DOA, and customer service will only give you store credit.

I let them self-balance for a couple days, by tying them all together in parallel, with small gauge lashing wire. It will look like a sine wave, skipping every other battery.
