There is a big issue here in Africa when it comes to packaging and distributing film, because there are no honorary associations that can help structure the film process from preproduction, production, postproduction to distribution. If we want to be able to regulate content from the film industry in Africa, so we can create something like what Hollywood and Bollywood is right now. We need honorary associations to regulate the African film industry, that will then move on to build a bigger association like the MPA ( Motion Picture Association) which is the mother body that can regulate and promote the interest of film makers in-terms of negotiations with funders like this Banks and investors from outside the country. Eg ACE, ASC, DGA, PGA etc oh incase people don’t know what this is, ACE is American Cinema Editors, DGA is Directors Guild of America, ASC is American Society of Cinematographers, etc Infact this conversation is something that hasn’t been able to work in the different parts of the country Africa, using my country Ghana as an example, for it to travel to neighboring west African countries, and then travel through the whole of Africa before it even gets out to the world so this is a situation that needs to be discussed thoroughly.
