Im learning Kisw for my Kenyan girlfriend in secret. What's more challenging to me is the lack of content for kids (ideal for beginners for me), I rely on Ubongo Kids which is really funny and cute but a bit too complex for me. I learned the numbers and the senses spontaneously tho and I don't feel the sound of the language as too fast or foreign anymore so Im making progress.

Therefore, once the borders between the modern states are removed and the ethnic groups begin to freely mix the continent will prosper and become peaceful. Again, comparing words with strictly Alur as I'm not fluent enough to speak for Acoli and other Luo people, the words for a female depend on the context. A girl is nyaku/nyako. Nya/nyar means "daughter of" and most times, we qualify it with nya-**** mentioning either the parent or the clan or chiefdom. A woman is dhako. But we're normally more specific with saying dha-**** mentioning where she is married. So a girl belonging to the atyak clan shall be called nyar-atyak, while a woman married to a man of the atyak clan is called dha-atyak But then, we have a more specific term for a wife, which, like yours, is ceg. So my wife is cega, his wife is cege. That's where I've found it interesting.

😅😅 I am Alur and both your languages are connected to Luo. In our history (Alur but also Acholi since we're the same but merely separated a while back) its said we were anciently part of the Nuer Kingdom till we left and began migrating southward. Alur and Acoli (at least), were formerly the Luo Atyak group from the Nuer. The claim is that the name comes from King Uluo Atyak who lived/reigned in about 1010 till 1050. If you can ask around, you can try to find out if theres a King called Ngur in the history of the Nuer so we can confirm. Now for the Shilluk, its said they're the ones that led to the name Acoli being used in Uganda. Sir Samuel Baker found the Acoli language remarkably close to the Shilluk language he'd encountered up North in Sudan, and assumed they're the same. Calling them Shuli. Our histories are definitely intertwined. Alur and Acoli also call rain koth (kot for Acoli)
