Today we start the long process of rebuilding the under reach unit on the 3500. This process took quite a while as we had to remove all of the frozen pens and rusted parts,even cut the mounting brackets for the Rams out. we only set out to rebuild the Rams but ended up rebuilding the whole unit.

thank you for the video !!!!!! I was worry the inside threaded plate for the door on my crown vic would fall down and i be ripping the inside of the car apart to hold in place .. i see the tall gate was a difrint matter , but aless taking a tale lens off not that big of a deal

Good grief there's almost nothing left of the chevy! No wonder it's the $150 dollar car.
So tell me, if the truck sat for 17 yrs, and not sure if there's fluid inside, would the cylinders on Boom & Wheel lift still be good?
I would say as long as the system was sealed they should be fine. If there were a chance of moisture build up it’s a guess at that point. You could always pull the lines and soak each side with pb blaster or trans fluid to be safe.

As I understand it, using those newer mirrors will not allow the driver to see the right side of the truck. The brackets were designed around the 88 - 98 mirrors. Did these mirrors fit correctly and can you see both sides of the truck?
Yes they fit perfectly with no issues and they are fully adjustable as well.
Where can I get an hhr for $150 dollars

Can you swap the wing window from a 92 into a bullnose door? I just swapped doors and just realized I can’t use my wing window
I'm not sure if you can swap the window itself, just not sure if the interior portion where window sits on the newer doors, but otherwise the doors are interchangeable between the two. The previous owner of my 1997 f250hd had replaced the driver side door with the door from a bullnose, the problem is you can't open the bullnose style window all the way in the newer model obs's without opening the door. The dash on a bullnose must be a different design because the extra glass at the front corner of the bullnose window can't move past the side of dash...
Do you know if I could get those at AutoZone or oreilys?

i have same setup. but cant get gland cap off. its made of aluminum. if i tap it like ypu did it will be destroyed.thing is soft like butter. i guess yours was steel??

Great video, just an FYI, the older OBS trucks (my 1985 F250) have a different style where the washer will not come off the threads.
Same problem on my 84
@johnathan adkins I don't believe the door bolts are different, just that the washer separates. My 85 works great with new bushings. My 84 sticks when I used 1/2 PEX as a door bushing.

Yep, pretty freaking stupid. Bought some of these bushings to try on my 1984 bronco. Washer will not come off, it was threaded after the washer was installed

How would I get to the bushing if it fell inside the B Pillar? Really anxious about doing that job.
We had the same issue. Could tell right away the nut was not being held securely by the little flange on the inside of the pillar. Removed the grommet from the hole below the striker pin , bent a coat hanger wire and was able to hold the inside nut in place while I inserted the new striker bolt. It was touch and go. Good luck. You might try cutting a new bushing with a hacksaw on one side, top to bottom and replace bushing instead of removing striker bolt. Just try to rig up a new bushing.
You don’t have to remove any of the windows. Jus cover them up with painters tape before you weld to prevent any spotting. If you have any questions you can dm me on Instagram @leanedoutbricky I did this successfully on my 91 F-150

Do all the power functions of the mirror still work?
If you haven't found that fender piece look up Ron Hartman on Facebook and eBay.he deals with nothing but these cars and trucks birds.i guerentee he has that part.also new headlights.

John G I used a aftermarket fiberglass hood. I cut the center section out and grafted it on my turbo hood!
