Fitting XS Power Charge Piping and Mounting Intercooler
Ok so I’m a Hondata tuner and a fwd drag racer. My car makes 620hp on the dot. Best pass is 10.34 at 138mph with a 1.58 60ft. in a FULL WEIGHT STREET Car. Here’s my process, hope it helps you out. Precision 6262 turbo btw. 1st 10psi, 2nd 17psi, 3rd 26psi, 4th 32psi of boost. GSR trans, 3RD GEAR BURNOUT for about 2 to 3 seconds, you have to get those tires hot but not to hot. 2nd gear is not enough, not to mention your on your limiter too much. PRELOAD, PRELOAD, PRELOAD, slip that clutch you won’t hurt it, it’s a twin disk. Not preloading is how you break stuff, 6.5psi of pressure in the slicks, after your burnout the air gets hotter and expands netting usually about 8.5psi, also try to refrain from slipping the clutch to much in first gear, just a little then dump it. Slipping it to much makes you to inconsistent, unless you have a robot leg that can do the same thing everytime. Row those gears, you have to much boost in second gear, your spinning and short shifting and falling out of boost and dropping to much rpm, also turn on your quick spool on and set every gear about 4 psi below whatever boost your peaking at in that gear. It makes that power band more consistent and keeps that power band more flat. Comment back or direct message me for any questions, I would love to help, your car makes enough power to break into the 9s, I’ve tuned and built about 15 ten second cars and even put a few in the 9s, yours can do a 9 second pass you just need the practice and the right setup. Keep it up bro, your getting there, killing it 🤘🏻
My apologies if this was answered in a future video, I didn't hear anything. How did our TiAL Sport Product perform after the spring adjustment?
The wastegate worked great after the spring adjustment! Regulated boost pressure and I was able to make full passes!
@@EKBoosted Great to hear.
thanks so much for making this, super helpful! do you have any updates on getting the fitment settled? i’m installing one of these on my car shortly.
@@iforgotwhatmyusernamewas glad it helped! The support fits well, I just need to thru bolt the ends. My homie yelled at me cuz I didn’t, but the car went 11.42 @ 135 and I didn’t lose the front end so it works 😂
Sooooo... why are you doing this?!?! Obviously it makes the head seal better but what does this do, how much hp is this good for and why do you need it
@@DeVoNmotorsports it helps prevent head gasket failure. O Ringed engines are proven to hold high levels of boost pressure and make well over 1000 horsepower.
@@EKBoosted thanks, great video, somone is selling a engine with a block guard and its not welded and not recessed in for the coolant to flow around, and dosnt have an o-ring just says head gasket, the listing claims to be good for 800+hp and built by a shop professionally, how much hp realistically do you think its good for? About 300 to 500hp? And claims built for track use also but just a shortblock
U also need to use staging break to creep into the beams after that sink the clutching keep the car two step creep into the second beam and be prepared to leave your sleeping too much at the light you're waiting for the green light and you're sitting down that's one of your issues
Love ur trailer set up really nice
Just stumbled upon this channel man I definitely like this because I can relate to you now I'm putting together my Integra Turbo eventually trying to go all-wheel-drive B series
Whats wrong with the data logging? Just set the conditions for when you want it recording and pull it from the ecu. Unless that's broken?
It's not that your shifts are too slow , its that you shift as soon as it spins and taps rev limiter. Car speed is lower so next gear drops your rpm out of power.
Try 7 psi of tire pressure. And second gear boost level needs to come down.
Paragraph incoming, just tryna help! I think the datalog issue was because of the display. I’ve never ever had an issue data logging with hondata. It definitely is ancient and I agree a haltech would be miles better but that issue I’ve never seen before. It does have its fair share of bugs though. Hondata does the job but def better options out there! I definitely think you need to do 3rd gear burnouts. Your tires aren’t warming up enough and you’re spinning second. Good 3rd gear burnout, see decent smoke and let out. Shouod hook better in 2nd and shake the tires less in 1st. Idk if this is just me but it sounds like you’re not riding the gears out long enough, especially 3rd. Tap that limiter once, of course don’t just completely run into it but use all of the gear. Lastly, I think you’d benefit from full throttle shift. You won’t have to lift off the gas, boost will stay and power will be plentiful when you hit that next gear. That will pick up your 8th mile and you’d def run that 10! Watching this video makes me wish I could drive it, looks like a blast! But I hope this helps! Congrats on the 11.4@135
@@PRZJ91 there was definitely a communication issue somewhere. I agree that S300 works but it would be nice to be able to log without a laptop in the car. 3rd gear burnouts scare me more the 2nd! 😂 let me work up to that! I definitely agree that no lift shifting would help, most certainly want to work towards that. I tried to shift as close to limiter as possible, maybe tapping limiter would help but I wanted to try shifting just before it to see if it helped. Really wish I had a log from the 11.4 pass so I could really figure out where things can be improved upon and cleaned up! Thanks for all the pointers!
@@EKBoostedyou can set up logging in the ecu so that you don’t need the laptop in the car. I’ve never used it before but there is a way to get it to work. You may be able to have it on a switch as well. I’ll get back to you on that
Good luck with the upgrades for your next goal 😉 Please not use that beep sound in your video, your almost blow my ears with my headphone 😉
@@KimboEK4 apologies 😬
Small nit-pick. at around 13:38 When staging, it is considered proper etiquette to not stage until both of you are pre-staged. this allows turbo cars proper time to build boost should they be a turbo car. i know this was just a qualifier. but some people take that very seriously and will not be afraid to show it after a race if theres money on the line.
@@Richie_RHD I definitely got too anxious on that pass. I know better than to double bulb someone and yet there I did it anyway. Face palm moment. I definitely gotta clean that up! Good catch!
u turned a 5 minute install video into a 17 minute rambling snoozefest
Glad to see I’m not the only one confused by the last fender bolt position on this core support. I was just installing mine and couldn’t figure it out myself. Good video, sir! Subscribing to catch the rest of the build!
Hey I’m having hard time to let me know if u figured out
Is that your tuner at minute 9:00 ?
So quick tip from my previous experience, I never do not add boost/power to the car at the track until my 60” is low 1.5 /high 1.4’s. I saw you guys quickly learned that adding boost didn’t help on that 3rd run
@@badboyracing5391 that just a homie helping me try to figure this thing out. My tuner had his hands on the laptop at the first event this summer and got me to my PB. We are gonna go back to that tune at the next event. We’re learning as we go, first time I’ve had a car of this caliber so it’s a lot for me to learn.
@@EKBoosted you are doing great!! What really helped me was a notebook and it might sound silly, but in that notebook I write down each pass that I make weather, track, tire psi, boost psi and of course the time slip numbers and any changes made on each pass that way you know exactly how and why something happened
@@badboyracing5391 that’s genius
Need 2nd gear burn outs to get more mph to heat up the slicks. Need to add weight to the front end to keep the front end from lifting. Lastly need to control the spinning and rev higher so when you shift your still in the power band.
I have a b-series type r, what was the cost of the head work? Did you purchase a complete head or sent a head to be worked?
I purchased a complete head from 4 Piston, but you can send in a head. Cant remember pricing of hand but I know they have it listed on their site.
Clicked that thumb, left a comment, lets get you in that algorithm
The last pass sounded great all the way through but I’m feeling pretty good the more you fine tune it. Can’t wait to see 10’s!
Did you figure it out with the cd7? Going to the same thing
@@manglona11 there’s a setting in the S300 calibration I had to switch. It’s step #1 on the CD7 to S300 directions on AEM’s site.
💪🔥🐐
Every video is upgrading or fixing something haha jk! Thanks for the update man!
K swapped civic for a street car?
It’s channels like yours that keep me from giving up on my 8+ year build keep up the good work
First. and just commenting to help the algorithm... i know the importance of that. That all being said, Josh is a fantastic person, his products are unmatched. He even custom bent me a brake kit for the fronts for my car since it is Right hand drive, had them in hand within 48 hours.
How hot was it? The iat’s could possibly have pulled an ungodly amount of timing that it ignited the fuel late in the exhaust and that could spool the turbo over the pressure you want. Also more load on the track will do that. But if it was source to gate and it still did it then that’s weird. Where do you source your boost pressure from?
Also I’d def switch to pushlock fittings. I’m not a fan of those banjo fittings lol
Boost pressure is sourced from the turbo. The car wasn’t that hot, 160-190 during the passes. The fact it worked with a different gate is the confusing part. They are the same wastegate outside of the color. Maybe blue is just bad luck 😂
@@EKBoosted lmfao maybe, but nah Im talking about intake air temperature. Not coolant temp. If your car sat enough to cool to 160, the iats are usually cooler than that when cruising but sitting and heat soaking they could have been close to that coolant temperature. They could have even been the same. That would pull excessive timing and cause overboost issues. But the gate to source issue is weird. What’s the boost cut?
@@PRZJ91 boost cut was set at 30psi. The intake air temps shouldn’t have been to bad, as it was in the 60s that day. Also, if it was the intake air temp I would imagine I would’ve had the same issue with a different gate.
@@EKBoosted possibly. Check the iat’s on the log if you took one. And then check your iat compensation.
Looks like it wasn't able to fully open with 2 springs
It did, I just didn’t throw enough air at it in the clip.
Good job bro 🔥💯🚀🚘💪
Man got to work on that burnout no heat on the tires thas why you spinning 1-2 do your burnout in 3rd and dont be scared of the power let her eat
that's what I was thinking. I burnout in 2nd but my hatch is only making 460whp @ 20#'s. dude got a big tire too, I'm currently running 13x8 on 23" slicks and runs consistent 11.0 turned down @ 16#'s. There's definitely more in his car, just needs to learn how to drive it.
@@keolanakamotoinbg4730 not bad my hatch had 560 running 9.5 #lachapiadora
You coming out to Pan AM in maple grove next month?
Unfortunately, I will not be making it to Pan AM.
That last pass felt money, but overall sounds real good man!
If I wouldn’t have short shifted first on the 11.7 pass or missed 4th on the pass before that, I definitely would’ve been closer to a 10. There’s always next time!
You make a 9 second pass I’m hoping back on the wagon
You mean off the wagon?
Man good luck bro!
Sweet! Good luck brother nice camera work!!!
Aewsome video Just seeing what head gasket you used as i have same block as you Thank you
Speedfactory Head Gasket
Nice workz
don't stop uploading, im enjoying following along.
Flip the damn U bolt
Can’t believe it’s already been almost a year since the track. These videos have been fun to watch not gonna lie!
Right! Time sure flies. I appreciate the views brotha! It’s fun making content!
Someone mentioned knowing why you weren't zero... well tour left number was 21, right was 14 total is 35 and 17.5 is what you needed to move it back from 14... you'd of been at 3.5 which would have been close to your intial factory mark... if I'm correct
I think you had the right idea with some aluminum, find the right thickness, bend it to size and should solve your issue, but you might just have a machine or tin shop build it for you. Give me measurements and I can see if my dad can build something and I’ll ship it out😊
Nice one bro mega like new suscribe 🤝⛽️🚘🚀🔥👍💪💯
I just came to make a joke about pulling out 😆
Good signs, sucks to do a case swap but at least that’s behind you! Can’t wait for you to fix the overheating issue and watch you on the track! We all wanna see the Full Potential!
First time you ever pulled out.
🤣
I dont know what i did wrong but i cant get mine to work with me at all. I stripped out one of the arms trying to get it bolted together. then noticed it doesn't even mater because the arms had no where to go anyways to i bolts the cap on sealed it all up. and no matter what i do it leaks fuel around the base gasket iv checked everything even replaced the gasket. did you deal with anything with yours or everything go perfect?
Mine never leaked. Did you inject the silicone into the wire hole? Strange that it would leave at the gasket if everything was clean and tight.
@@EKBoosted yeah it’s not the wire holes and I know it’s weird the nuts are cranked down so tight I think if I go any further I’ll break the stud off. I’m pretty patient when it come to auto work but this has to be one of the most frustrating installs I have done
Thanks very helpful
