My first blind appearance in city of tears was from deepnest. I fell down from fungal wastes and couldn't find a way out. After few hours of several phobias kicking in and pushing through the gross deepnest, i killed the boss and got the tram pass. I got to the ancient basin and somehow got up to the city. Hearing this song and rain i felt relived. I overcame my fears of these nasty bugs and spiders and got to the famous city of tears. My dumass thought you couldn't get in from the fungal wastes so i got to the city really late. I got through crystal cave, ancient basin and deepnest with unupgraded nail. I think i'm in the minority of the players, because i dont think many people got through the majority of the game before the city :d. Still, this piece of art is too good. I love this song

I still very clearly remember taking this track in as I was going through the game and realizing I was going to remember Hollow Knight for the rest of my life. Such a remarkable game.

Thank you for this. This song, and the first moment you hear it, stood out a lot to me when I first played the game, and to this day it's one of my favorites. I was always dissatisfied with the OST version, as it completely rids the track of all its nuance and... dynamic-...ness...... Anyway, I use this video to help when I'm feeling anxious or nervous, and I really can't thank you enough for it! Just wish there was a longer version....

The City of Tears theme is without a doubt my favorite song, and this edit is my favorite version. There's just something about it that always puts me at ease, and sometimes if I'm feeling depressed or anxious I will turn this song on and it never fails to help calm me down. I was hooked to this game before I even played it myself. I love insects.. that and many other reasons are why it is my favorite game. The music, the art, the characters, the themes of death, loss, betrayal, The Hollow Knight's anguish, hit very close to home in a way other games haven't quite managed. I still have never beat the game. I don't want it to end. I may be one of the few people who could wait forever for Silksong, because I don't want to move on...
