At the time of my ED, there were no cellphones. And I don’t have any pictures of them. I went down to 74 pounds and my height is about 5 feet 5 inches and about age 17 when I started losing weight. It started off as a diet but ended up being a serious ED in which I have been hospitalized 3 times. And I still struggle and I’m now 60 years old. Some people just don’t recover.

While watching this I realized that I had an ED too. I never thought I did because I’m plus size but every time I became serious about weight loss I ignored the health method of losing weight slowly and I went straight to extreme diets and exercise. I reduced my calories to 400 a day and if I ate more than that I felt guilty and tried to throw it up but couldn’t so I became dependent on laxatives. I physically became the girl I wanted to be but I lost muscle mass, developed chest pain and I never had a chance to enjoy my weight loss because I developed body dysmorphia. I started to eat more involuntarily almost like I was sleep walking. I gained all the weight back plus more. I hate that I’m big again but I’m happy I broke the cycle of starvation. Now I understand food, and portions and I’m no longer avoiding carbs completely. I’m so happy you are getting better

Oh my gosh no way. I go there for treatment. I actually went there may 18th and I did lose a couple lbs and the Drs were super worried so they admitted me to Hershey medical Center and I was there for 33 days waiting for placement. Long story short I got denied from all the inpatients so they wanted me to do residential,but the only one that accepted me was in North Carolina and I was way to scared so I ended up not going. But that's such a small world how I came across ur channel and we go to the same outpatient. Lol seeing the lobb y again literally gave me PTSD ahhh jkjk

It is difficult when you live in a culture that values thinness above all else in females - not entirely but for the most part lets be real. I noticed a lot of women recovering through fitness. Strong is beautiful. Your body spends its whole life trying to keep you alive, that is some kind of love. Love it back and you will be amazed what you can do with good food and strength training. Never give up, have compassion for yourself always. Good luck and thank you for the video x

This video is so helpful! Thank you for sharing this and being vulnerable. You make me feel I’m not alone. I appreciate you and am so happy that you are learning that an ED is not the way to live. I am really struggling now. I was doing well but recently have relapsed. Videos like this help me see that there is a way out.
