That crap DESTROY your engine
If you manually turn on high beans, push stick forward, does that override the auto setting?
Thanks for the vid but I suggest maybe you keep your eyes on the road a bit more, rather than look back at the cameara or the dashboard so much. Especially when you were accelerating in what appeared to be a carpark, where cars can be coming from anywhere. And in what appeared to very cold and wet conditions. Better to do the demo in a quiet street/industrial area. But thank you for the effort to make the vid, so people get a feel for how it all works. :)
Help me with CX3 Majda defog system
Thank u!
What it does is ruin your engine over time.
Cylinder deactivation will destroy the tyranny and engine in time. I have this on 2006 Honda Odyssey and I paid the price.
What happens if I hit the paddle shifters while in drive (not manual?)
This deactivation sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I hope I can find a new CX-5 without.
When my a is on rhe blue high beam light is also on why
do you take foot off accelerator when you shift?
Cylinder deactivation doesn't "turn two cylinders off". Those pistons and valves are still there. They're still moving, they're just not producing any power, so the remaining two cylinders have to sacrifice some power (and MPG!) to keep them turning.
Yea i gotta turn that off. Too many times im coming around a corner and just blinding the cars that im following. Id hate that if it happened to me, so i wont be doing it to others.
This does wonders on the cx 3. Especially when you keep that 2.0 engine healthy. I clean my fuel system/injectors every 10 000 kms. I live in South Africa the highest fuel we get is 95. And I've never seen a car so eager to go when I start it over the past 3 years owning one . Paddle shifters are a fun add-on. Mazda skyactive engines are that good. The paddle shifters are not a gimmick you can do insane stuff with these . The high compression ratio engines are remarkable. Shouts to Mazda engineers
2011 mazda2 turns to HOLD drive, it makes a scary noise
The right headlight on my mazda cx9 2020 signature…making noise and vibration…can you tell me what is the problem?
What about sensitivity? The car just turns high beams off when there's a firefly in front of it ...turns off when a car is almost a mile away. I had some problems with this as I almost struck a deer yesterday night. I have to turn this automatic futuristic crap off. I'm starting to hate it when a car takes over my driving. It's often more dangerous than safe.
What setting on control knob for the lights to move like that?
thanks for info!
How about in a manual in a Traffic jam on a steep hill
This was very helpful😊
Forget to shift and destroy the engine, trans, or both. Nonsense.
why would i want uneven wear in my engine.
Yes. I have questions. Please tell me how to turn off cylinder deactivation. It saves only a miniscule amount of gasoline, but it shortens the life of the engine in the process because of the heat differential that can occur between cylinders. In addition, if the Mazda3 has engine start/stop technology that takes effect when I stop at traffic lights how do I turn that off? It leads to early failure of the starter. With both of these technologies the gasoline savings is small, but the cost of early failures of the starter or engine are quite large. I am in the market for a new Mazda3, but it will go to the bottom of my list if I can not turn these two things off. Thanks.
Lol, just realized I had these. I prefer using the “stick” shifter. Miss driving manual with a clutch. One thing I thought was a bit off base was shifting to 1st. Most people who drive manual with a clutch rarely use 1st. I wouldn’t shift to 1st in a parking lot, 2nd is king.
That is my exact thought
You didn’t explain to us the sensitivity settings? 😢
so as I understand, 'normally' we should 'not' use this when the auto transmission is already there. I have the cx-60 and was fuzzed on seeing the p-shifters , and kept on scratching my head, why on earth are they there with a 8-shift auto gear box ( could not even locate them in the Maz. manual btw)
That won’t be necessary in a California people here drive around with bright light because their inconsiderate
Cant find high beam control under vehicle in settings! Mazda CX-5 2019
Go to exterior lights
Very helpful never used mine. Now I can.
AVOID cylinder deactivation. It's extremely noticeable.
Either manual with the clutch or automatic. Not a fan of clutch-less manual. Just bring the clutch back please!
She looks at the camera and not the road an awful lot 😮
Lmao
So they have had cylinder deactivation since 2019? Dealer just told me he thought it started in 2022.
My 2021 Mazda CX-5 touring works the way she describes it. There is nothing to push in on the light switch.
Thanks again for this video also
God bless you! I just started my new job at a Mazda dealership. I haven’t sold a car so we have an activated. The SiriusXM travel link. It was a good video for me. God bless you for your hard work on the video
Carla, you just saved my life. Cheers girl!
Mazda only did this cylinder deactivation to help with fuel economy because their fuel economy on these 2.5 are trash. Barely 20 average in stop & go on my AWD 3 with the non turbo motor. Mazda should just move on from the 6 speed, release an 8 speed that with create better fuel economy and dump the cylinder deactivation
Mazz-da vs Mahz-da is the new pop vs soda
Well ladies and gentlemen she left out a whole step in order for this to work properly which I own a Mazda you have to push the lever forward and that will turn on the auto indicator on your dashboard you can do the whole set up but if you do not push the lever forward until it clicks it will not function
I wish you could post it on TH-cam, because I'm having trouble getting this too work.
@@margaritaramos3393 were you able to get it to work? I just bought a CX-9 and I’m in love with this car.! You just have to push the lever forward and the icon will appear on your dashboard.
@krashNburn *III* Yes, I did. Thank you for asking .
the guy in the backseat is doing great camera work 👍 wait...
Just got the 2022cx5 ce coming from a totaled 2019 cx5, all this time I did not know it has CD until I play with the infotainment and find the CD status screen. One reason I pick mazda is because they don’t have stupid engine auto start/stop, cvt and no turbo for the base engine. Was going to keep the car long term but I’m worry about the longevity of the engine now. At least give us a way to shut off CD, let the consumer choose between longer engine life or couple extra mpg!
Thank you BUT way way WAY too much taking beforehand buttons in different place on 2022 and does not seem to program doing exactly what you said absolutely MADDENING....someone at Mazda TOTALLY screwed up! Apparently NOTHING in the manual!
It is TOTALLY unacceptable that this is not simply user friendly and MADDENING it is NOT in my manual under either seats or memory or adjustment or driver...AGGGHHHH!
Love this video, love my Mazda! Thx C!
But why it does vibration when it goes on 2 cylinders??? How to get rid of that vibration?
Mirror defogger, how on ?
Thank you but what abt window stopping when hand is put in
Is it more economical when using pastels shifters around town?
No. The computer is designed for fuel saving. It's why it will always hunt for the highest gear to sip fuel. High rpm, more fuel consumption. All modern economy cars are tuned to save fuel and a human can not out compute the computer. Sports model has better throttle response and lets you rev higher, but Mazda only recommends you use it for passing cars. Well I use it all the time when I want to do some spirited driving. Uses more gas, but return more smiles.
