Making a DIY Track Saw, Making a Door Board, Making a Saw Straight Edge, How to build a Trac Saw
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
This episode covers building a DIY Tack Saw or as some folks call it a Door Board. This device is used with a circular saw to make long straight cuts in sheet goods such as plywood. Simply line up the edge of the 1/4" thick portion of the straight edge and run your saw on top of the same 1/4" thick portion. The saw blade rides along the same edge as your mark. This makes accurate cuts with ease.

Aux Table Saw Fence for a Table Saw
มุมมอง 4582 ปีที่แล้ว
This episode is about Bobby creating an auxiliary fence for his Craftsman Table Saw. This idea can be used on any table saw fence. If your fence has pre drilled holes simply use these holes to attach your own auxiliary fence. This fence can be used to attach fingerboards and other jigs when needed at the table saw.

Kreg K5 Unboxing | Bobby Sharp
มุมมอง 5294 ปีที่แล้ว
I have purchased this Kreg K5 Kit and thought I'd do an unboxing to show what is in the box and explain the basic operation and set up of the unit. I choose the K5 over the K4 because of the location of the clamping lever. Also this unit can be combined with a plate so it can be clamped down to a work surface for a more stable experience.

    A couple of things worth mentioning here: my dust collector needed a number 1 phillips, and I have no idea where to get the correct adaptor for the vaccuum hose. I used a regular 1 1/4 to 2 1/2 adaptor and wrapped the small end with several wraps of electrical tape to make a tight friction fit

    Thanks. I’m a new woodworker and thinking of buying a sander. I’m not sure if I should just get a dick sander to start or one of those combo disk/belt sanders. I have yet to need a belt sander so I’m leaning toward a disc only. I think the bigger the better. Any thoughts based on your experience?

    This press has worked like a charm for my projects th-cam.com/users/postUgkxajoEbapTfqWaadnqb04h6U576yxXp-FE . I didn't even secure it to my table top, mainly due to the fact that I was using a 15 lbs drill vise. It's not flimsy at all as to what others have claimed it to be. Make sure the locking nuts and levers are secured and there won't be any issues with light pressure and patience. I was able to drill through aluminum, plastic, and steel (steel took a while) with no problems at all. Yeah it took a little longer than a regular drill press, but I don't have the space OR the money for one.The instruction manual was worthless, but luckily assembling the press was intuitive. However, the manual would be good for ordering replacement parts if needed. There is a nice breakdown of the parts that are included in the kit. Before ordering, make sure it is compatible with your unit, it is clearly stated what models the press is compatible with.This was an excellent purchase for $40!!

    Can you take pics from the back of your couch? Trying to picture the gap for the batteries. Did you box/contain the batteries? Height of drawers on bottom? I’m a newbie DIY’er and am learning :). Thanks in advance!

    • @bobbysharp
      @bobbysharp ปีที่แล้ว

      I will have to take some photos of the underside of the couch. Basically I had to cut out where the battery boxes came through the couch support. Eventually the couch ended up right at the end of the battery boxes, only protruding about 1/2 inch into the rear board. I think the drawers are 3 1/2" deep. The frame under the couch is about 5 3/4" tall. Since the couch was raised off the floor I had to install supports for the from section when it was pulled out. You can see me flip those down when I fold out the couch. What year AS do you own? Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing.

    This dust port has got a square opening on the side, was it made on purpose? Looks like some of the cuttings gonna fall through that opening. I covered the opening with tape. Not sure if I made it better or worse. Any thoughts on that ?

    • @bobbysharp
      @bobbysharp ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same thoughts when I got mine. The square opening is to allow better air flow for the vacuum. When you cut without the vacuum connected it will shot the dust out the dust port as well as the side opening, like it would without the port installed.

    • @bobbysharp
      @bobbysharp ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that would be a great choice. You could even use an MDF piece of primed trim, say a cased opening 1 x 6 or something like that. I had this ply on hand so I went that direction. This is the Radiata Pine ply from HD. They call it cabinet grade and it has many layers to it. Great point Bill, thanks!
