I didn't think they should have been out before they took to the track. I was looking at the chassis members on them in the pits and thought they could do real damage to a standard van. 8"x2' box section up against the usual rusted old Transits was just asking for trouble.

Good to see an old familiar name there . . The Burgoyne Brother's ad on the stand. I remember watching the 2 of them racing Saloons at Racewall through the 80s and 90s. Guessing they're retired from racing now.

I do miss tarmac racing I used to have Birmingham and Northampton tarmac within 25 miles of home and Coventry for shale. Now only Northampton shale remains not complaining as on balance I prefer shale and with cov gone NIR is great as a shale track, I did used to enjoy a good tarmac meeting..
Still praying that something happens to Coventry Stadium.. place is just left abandoned.. seems such a waste

They seem pretty much on par, they run 3.5l to 4.2l Rover V8 engines and are leaf sprung. More traditional set up and a hell of a lot cheaper to run.
