On and of road trip through France and Italy following the Trans European Trail, big fun on big bikes. Although next time I personally prefer to go on a less heavy bike, which already have some "battle" scars.

      Little bit late, but to answer your question, I removed the subframe underneath the original fender and constructed another one which support het RD07 one. Sorry no pictures, but it wasn't too difficult and I'm no welder. Good luck and thanks for your compliments!

    Great video! I’m Italian living in NL and I’d love to drive back on TET. How experienced you must be to do it?

    • @jvogel5027
      @jvogel5027 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! You definitely need some experience. Most of the time the tracks are easy going but there can be some passages which are difficult. You can choose to take another route, but sometimes this can be complicated. During the summer most tracks are hard surfaced, easy, but some rain can change it all... You must try out for yourself, take some lessons and do the most difficult sandy part of TET in the south of NL, when you can drive there, you can drive everywhere. Better not go alone, good luck!

    I'm toying with the idea of doing a little bit of this and I'm trying to talk a couple of friends into it. Your comment about using a lighter bike that has already got battle scars has got me thinking maybe I could use my TDM 850 if I make a couple of modifications like chunky tyres and raising the front mudguard and adding a sump guard. whats your opinion? Great Video by the way ;-)

    • @jvogel5027
      @jvogel5027 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the known trails around bardonecchia are "easy" to drive with a heavy motorcycle. I have seen sportbikes driving these trails on 100% road tires. You will find mostly gravel roads, very little mud so you can leave the front fender in place. About the TDM, it has a 18inch front wheel instead of a 21 which you will find in most off road bikes. This creates a nerves steering effect because it goes from side to side on each rock, this is something where you have to get used on... Just find some friends and go, it can be done. And if you don't like it, there are planty of nice tarmac roads around!

  • @Majki_OsW
    @Majki_OsW 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    What kind of tires did you use?

    • @jvogel5027
      @jvogel5027 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Round, black and made out of rubber! Just kidding. Only when you drive trough mud sections you will need knobby tyres, mabey some sand to. On these mountain roads you don't need nobbs, you can drive with any tyre, just takes a careful throttle. To get more grip (and comfort) just lose some air. I drove a Mitas 07 wich I found slippery on wet taramac.

    mooie video mannen, is die trail alleen te doen? of moet je moet meerdere rijders zijn voor de moeilijkere stukken?

    • @jvogel5027
      @jvogel5027 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      bedankt! Je vraag is lastig te beantwoorden, het hangt af van ervaring, type motor, weersomstandigheden enz. Italie aan de kant van Frankrijk is niet heel moeilijk en er rijden behoorlijk wat andere motorrijders en 4x4's, dat kan handig zijn in geval van nood...

    • @michelplanchar
      @michelplanchar 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mooie video! Hallo Hans, als je alleen wil rijden moet je absoluut een lichtere bike hebben, verder aan de kant van Slovenië zijn de trails een beetje moeilijk voor een big bike! Als je offroad doet is lichter altijd beter. Dit jaar in mei doe ik de TET van Italië naar Griekenland alleen op een CRF 250 L. Ik zou het niet durven met een transalp. Ook belangrijk: aggressieve offroad tyres, als er regen is kun je niks doen met bv TKC 80...

      @@jvogel5027 hey Jody, thanks for this great movie.. about this section where you have to kind of lift the bikes aside the rocks on the edge of the road... End of colle de tende... Is this a temporary drop of rocks on the road or was it a permanent obstacle to your mind? I like to drive the colle de tende this summer but with even heavier allroad bikes / super tenere 1200 and varadero 1000... I was told the colle De tende was great fun to ride and technical ( that is not such a problem for us), but if the road is kind of blocked like that with rocks and I see you guys need to be 2 to hold a 660cc bike I'm hesitating to include colle de tende in my route... BTW We're not specifically riding the TET but more over small roads with lots of hairpins and some faster sections with twisties and some easy off-road portions (not these small tracks with heavy rocks) Nogmaals bedankt voor deze mooie video en super gemaakt voor je 4e maal.. Soms is idd de muziek wat te luid en hoor je het geluid van de motoren niet echt.. Maar de beelden zijn super!
