This is exactly what I was looking for but got lucky finding it. If you want to you could change the headline by adding spark plug wire to coil repair. Thanks for the video

Nice
Looks like you may need to reinforce the end there where the can gets crushed. Looks as though it may fail before too long.
What are the specs on the pneumatic cylinder?
That's the exact stock I'm refinishing
the hopper looks like more trouble than it's worth.
I just have a nail overhead on a joist, but that looks more cool. ✌️
I just use the #2 screw driver held in my hand... Works well.
Bearings should be smooth as butter, not stiff and bumpy. Also, magnets seem to not be very strong. This one looks to be a Chinese knock off of the Oregon brand that's made in Italy. You know what they say, "ya get what you pay fer." I just bought the "All American Sharpener" blade balancer. Man, that thing is all metal and it's beefy! Plus, it's 100% American made. That sucker will outlast my future great, great, great grandchildren.
This was not a tutorial on blade balancing. More of an "Unboxing the cheap amazon balancer Video".....Also, This is not a spin balancer. It just shows you if one side is heavier than the other.............More testing to come as I have a mower blade that is way out of balance arriving in a few days.
I have never balanced a mower blade in my life, and never had any issues. I even had a lawn mowing business when I was younger
I was told you should balance blades horizontally, as that’s how they work when mounted in a mower. So I’d move that balancer so it sits on top of your workbench.
My grandfather showed me how to balance a mower blade by hanging it on a nail.
Is that a black.mouth cur dog

What carb did you put in? Part # and source would be awesome. Would the Tohatsu generic MFS6 be the same carb?
I have to hit 500 subscribers before it will let me post the links. :(
what press is that
Dillion 1000
dumb dumb
So what did you swap it out with?
Nice..
What compound did you use
Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound
@@sportsmansalvagecompanyinc7932 thank you! Came out nice
Sure try - Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish, yes for headlights. First use just light sanding, it gonna look foggy and after that Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish. I did on my 21 old Mazda Protege 5, headlights looks like a new! Saved me 320$ vs new pair... I suggest you finally apply a clear coat spray for headlights, it's about 10$ Walmart/Auto parts store....✌️
Just did this to my 6hp Tohatsu. Watched yours to make sure I did it right. Thanks.
Thanks. Please Like and Subscribe. ^_^
Good Video
Just bought that same model on amazon for $45. Now to see if they ship iit or cancel my order. They dropped the price because some moron wrote a review about how they stuck their finger in it and cut it off. That idiot is the reason why they have warnings on hair driers about not using in the shower and do not drink on bleach bottles.
Would this be the same process for 5 hp? Thanks
Yes.
nice use of a tumbler. What media and shaft and motor?
Would a 9.8hp merc carby for in a 2stroke 6hp merc (2007)
I dont swear by it, but I know for carbs with sliding throttle (moped/scooter) there are different atomizers for 4 and 2 stroke, where a twostroke carb on a fourstroke would not be made for such long pause between the strokes, however if you try, please update us😊
Do you know whar size socket the side bolt was?
Why would you run it without water to cool it? 3:50 PM 6/22/2023
Engine never had time to overheat or even warm up. Longer tests are conducted in the barrel.
I don't know about that, after you ran it then revved it twice it was definitely warm! And the impeller was running dry!
@@dennisfalan1623 I do. I have ways of monitoring engine temperature and egt. I did a much longer test in the barrel after this. again, no overheating. I also, replaced the impeller shortly after the long test run. So, I didn't worry about damaging the old one.......I have heard this argument against dry run many times yet have never seen an engine fail or damaged because of quick test run on the stand..........I have seen them burn up after running with clogged water intake or stuck thermostat in a lake. It still to 30 minutes or more to overheat. The impellers and gear box seals seem to often be neglected Maintenace items on these old motors. Some appear not to have ever been serviced in the past 50 years and are full of grit. Yet, they still run. It takes a lot of sustained abuse to kill one of these off.
@@sportsmansalvagecompanyinc7932 Right, I have repaired and sold a lot of these OMC 9.5's I have 4 that I need to get to work on now. Myself I have seen them destroy perfectly good impellers by running them dry, and for me I almost always have them peeing hot water seconds after start up I have also had to get them back to the ramp after impeller failure and for me they don't get far before they stall out from overheating just saying, that has been my experience.
@@dennisfalan1623I agree. Don't run these beauties unless they are wet.
Thanks a great help
Vc tem esse equipamento pra vender?
Beautiful craftsmanship! I am doing my 1966. Where did you get your propshaft black nose cone?
It came with the motor..
Nice video. What did you torque the bolts to? What did you put on the bolts?

What are those 2 hoses coming off the top? I have the original carb and it doesn’t have those. I just bought a replacement that has 2 connections for the hoses. Is it just an overflow? Thank you
Drain hoses.
@@sportsmansalvagecompanyinc7932 thank you sir 👍🏼
I just put a 9.9hp carby on my 6hp 2stroke merc and it’s only going 2kmph faster do you know why it’s not going it’s full potential
Bigger carb doesn't always mean more power. 9.9 has about 60% more displacement than the 6hp. Both have a top speed of about 6k rpms. More power doesn't mean more speed. Changing the Prop pitch may increase speed to a point.............Find the ideal Prop Pitch to HP/RPM ratio.......Also, try adjusting the trim. Proper trim can increase speed a lot. Please Like and Subscribe. Be sure to let me know if this helped any.
Have to also change the exhaust and prop for it to run right. 6hp dont even have an exhaust tube it dumps down the leg and has a small outlet the 9.9 one is an actual tube with a larger outlet and slightly flared at the end. Earlier mercs from the mid 80s and up had the same cc engine for 6-9.9hp only the 15 was larger then in mid to late 90s they just used the larger displacement 15hp block and just choked the 9.9 down a bit with different exhaust and carb. Those larger displacement 9.9 motors do have a notable difference in performance compared to the smaller displacement.
I have that same tool set.
I've got 3 batteries on my kodiak as well. Any reason most have 2 and ours have 3?
Mine is a Diesel and was originally a tow truck with dual alternators. Higher compression and more gadgets = more batteries maybe?
