Facts I swore my rear axle was making funny noises but 2 different mechanics didn't hear anything, now I have to replace the axle because I can feel the gears. Note; If I engage 4wd, taking some of the load off the rear axle, I no longer feel it. I think it's a broken tooth in the pumpkin

YES!!! Diesel pickup truck mechanic, had a truck at the shop I put almost 5,000miles on trying to recreate the problem(2003 7.3 6speed 4wd with an intermittent rough run condition/intermittent miss) every time he would leave, about an hour or so later, it would mess up. Finally had him call when it was messing up, drove an hour and had him leave it running. Cleared up 10 minutes before i got there. Finally found a spot a wire was shorting out and hitting the valve cover through a MICROSCOPIC hole in the insulation. 2 months later. I drove that truck EVERYWHERE, vacation with My family and to work and back home every day. Dude said "drive the wheels off till You find the problem"

That "key" is gonna wear out the ignition switch with all that weight swinging around.

DO NOT pull and push the c.v joint like this. Its not a slide hammer. This will damage the c.v. bearings ace\& cage. 1 little nick on any of the 3 bearing surfaces will cause wear pattern on all,and cause premature failure. This is important because 50% of the time your reusing same axle.( If replacing ,hammer on it all day). Use pry bar between c.v.axle and the trans..GENTLY. Misinformation,... but atleast its information for the beginners

It's only the easiest way to do it if it wants to come out easy. Usually it fights you much more than that. 😂

lol. As a guy who worked in an offroad shop, buddy I’ve had rugs of ratchet straps, ports powers on them and pry bars. Sometimes they just won’t let go. Especially when the cups are slam full of mud and rust.
