Thanks to you I found out that if I fail my history final, I get a D, but if I pass with all the questions being 100% correct, I get an A. So I really need to study for the final

Getting a 100% is also very challenging and almost impossible for comprehensive final exams that has information that may not be in any review or study guide depending how difficult the course. Also if your getting very low grades in regular exams like between 0-40/100 and passing the final with a 100/100 may also look kind of suspicious. Do you think grade sudden shifting is suspicious? Like for example, 100% in 10% in homework 100% in 10% in Projects And 40% in first test And then another 40% in second test and then another 40% in third test and then another 40% in the fourth test. They all are worth 12.5% each. The current grade is very low and to pass with a C 70, a 100% on final is required. Do you think 100, 100,40,40,40,40,100 is sus?

Can you still pass if you got low marks using this method is it going to boost your marks ??

How about if every test has a passing score more than half the items of exam.? How would you give them the percentage.?

okay i did this because my math teacher has my grade as a 66 and i got 153. can someone tell me my average? It’s 85% for assessments and 15% for daily grades. I have one assessment that I got a 60 on and two daily grades that are both 100.

This only works if the final score is on a percentage scale or on a scale from 0 to 100. If it's on any other scale, you have to multiply the percentages you get from every score (tests, homework, etc) not by 100 but by the final score scale. Thus, what you get is the equivalent score for each "subscore" on the final score scale.

Weighted grades usually refers to counting an A or B or whatever in an honors or otherwise accelerated course as worth more points than the same grade in a regular class. Usually, you add half a point; so, an A in a regular class is worth 4 points towards a GPA, while an A in an honors class is worth 4.5. A B in a regular class is worth 3 points; in an honors class, a B is 3.5 points. This is done to keep smart kids from taking only the easiest classes so that their GPA will be really high. College applications now ask whether the high school uses weighted grades. That way they know that the kid who made a 4.0 at a school with weighted grades either didn't make all A's or else didn't take the hardest classes.Hope that helped ! I highly recommended you this online free GPA Calculator : calculator-online.net/cgpa-calculator/

Hi Evan, Your presentation is very impressive. However, I want to set up a gradebook as follows for two students using the weighted percentage method. Any help would be most welcomed. Here are the actual scenarios: FIRST student obtained grades for three pieces of assignments as follow: 9/10 (1), 80/100 (1) and 30/50 (1). These were input in excel as follows: C2=10, D2=100, E2=50; C4=9, D4=80, E4=30. The total assignment weight is (3). Therefore, the formula I used to calculate the overall assignment % weight is =SUM((C4/C2*100)+(D4/D2*100)+(E4/E2*100))/H4, which gave a result of 76.67%/77%...perfect. SECOND student got the following grades for the same three pieces of assignments: Abs/10 (1), 50/100 (1) and 25/50 (1). The grades were input in excel as follows: C2=10, D2=100, E2=50; C5=Abs, D5=50, E5=25. The total assignment weight is now (2) . My problem now is trying to use a formula to calculate the student's overall assignment % weight without the student getting a ZERO using a percentage weight (20%) for all three assignments for both students. Thanks again for the assistance.

My God man where did you learn to do math. You are taking a llifetime to do something that can be done in 3 steps (add, and divide twice- that simple)...for the 4 tests I can simply add the weighted scores of 95,80,70,96 = 341 then simply / by 50% given the overall value ergo 170.5 and then divide again by 4 = you get 42.65 or 43 out of 50. Done in literally 3 seconds. You are taking a lifetime! I applaud your efforts but seriously who taught you math.
