I know sometimes abrasive pads are used, but if you want to try and strip it chemically - let me introduce you to the Encyclopedia of Clean - at the bottom of this page here: eacochem.com/eaco-chem-literature/ If you go to the chart at the bottom, substrate is concrete, looks like for mastic adhesive you want to try AcrylicStrip or InStrip from Eacochem. Personally I haven't tried stripping mastic, but the products should work if you apply them thick enough and give it enough time.

This was a product called Rhino Blast from Good Under Pressure. It's potassium hydroxide in a gel. Probably about 1500 to 2,000 PSI. Let the chems do the work, don't try and brute force it off with water else you might damage the surface

I agree. It is much cleaner. The rug is old and worn and faded. Professional carpet cleaning can only do so much. If the owner is so concerned about it not looking clean then said owner shouldn't have waited 6 years to get it cleaned. It should have been done every year if it was the carpet in a hallway or foyer. Not the cleaners fault for the state of the rug. They did the best they could with what they had.

    • @AndrewMeades

Depends on the scope with the customer. Using a detergent, like a degreaser to clean off the grease, would be done if someone was going to be working on a section of the equipment and needed clean access. Otherwise these were back out the next day to get dirty again, so they were just a maintenance level clean.

You could just spray it to cover all the rust, give it 10 minutes to work, check and see if it needs longer or a second application, and then pressure wash it off. Scrubbing is not necessary. Keep in mind it will clean whatever it runs down onto below.

I don't hate vandals. I feel like graffiti is just a fact of life, like littering, its going to happen eventually. If you own a building just budget an amount for it and remove it ASAP always. It is not something I would do personally as its against my values touching someone elses property without permission. But it also helps to put food on my table, so it is what it is. I don't mind it as much when its a big corporate customer. And it sucks when its a struggling small business owner who has their city forcing them to remove it and I get to experience their frustration and loss.

I always push for local governments to make legal spaces more available because it does work don't care what anyone says it does. Alot of people have gone from doing illegal to just legal walls and because you have time you can get so much better not to mention the friends you meet at spots.
