The cello of Paul Tortelier. Back on stage
I am very pleased to announce that I have been granted the honour to play a violincello by Bartolomeo Tassini - the "ex Paul Tortelier". This instrument was the main companion of the famous cellist for more than 30 years, until his death in 1990. Many of Paul Tortelier's known recordings were made on it. This is the first time the cello has been reborn since Tortelier's death.
The instrument is a generous loan from a member of the Stretton Society, a private philanthropic members club that supports classical music and musicians through exceptional stringed instruments and a variety of platforms.

Hello Ivan! Who was the violin maker of this cello? Bartolomeo tessini? I tried to search same information about this violin maker but didn't find anything! What are the materials of this cello? Thanks a lot!
Great playing… love this guy’s performances.
Great cello with a soul
These great old instruments have it.
What a meltingly gorgeous voice this cello has, and you’ve brought that out as Paul did! I look forward to hearing much more from you and this instrument, both!
I can play at that level if I had that cello!
Cap
Very beautiful cello, but I prefer french cello bridges 👌
Bravo to the stretton society, the family of Tortelier and this cellist who will be playing on this highly historical cello of the XXth century. It's a beautiful instrument, best wishes to this young cellist.
It was made in 1750, so it's 18th century.
Congrats!!!!
Now i understand dislikes, they played perfect but the end is muted
Vibrating the soul with your music Ivan
Одно из лучших исполнений! Только порядок вариаций непривычный
Вероника Чернова это оригинальная версия, так как её написал Чайковский, а все обычно играют редакцию по Фитценгагену.
Johann Sebastian Bach спасибо!
Замечательный искренний музыкант! говорит звуками влюблённо....какой редкий дар....дай Бог счастья успехов !!!!!!
