Hello! My name is Kavel (or Kav) and I want to host streams that encourage people to spend an hour a day doing something that they love. Personally, I want to get better at art. With only about 5-6 months of experience, come join me as we slowly, but surely, conquer our skills!

Excellent video! I had no idea about Drawabox until now :)
Brokey the audio :(
This is incredible detailed and helpful can’t wait for more like this!
I just got to the 250 boxes challenge, and i'm so hyped for lesson 2! Your videos are so good. I've been watching them at work when I'd rather be at home drawing
Thanks a ton! Hopefully I can get around to making some more review vids like these 😅
I'm learning drawabox, your videos make me feel like I have a companion, your videos are very professional
Thanks for the lesson and insight!
Drawabox is so hard to figure out how to pay, tokens, etc its almost useless🤷🏼♀️
It can be pretty overwhelming and confusing at first 😅. Do you have any questions about DaB? I could possibly answer a couple!
Messed up the audio whoopsies, it'll be fixed next stream :)
noooo I missed it!
200% stream
Too bad I've missed the stream, I'll try and catch the next one
No stress! We don't take attendance lol
Fire stream kavel goodluck with exams!
Woahh its me saif from the drawabox server, didn't know you streamed! Awesome stuff!!
Woah, what's up Saif! I just saw the cylinders you did today, I gotta admit I am kinda jealous 👀. Congrats on finishing your Lesson 5, and I'll (hopefully) catch up to you soon :)
@kavel_draws you're doing really good so far!!! You will catch up 100% I'm waiting on ya hehe 🙂↕️ why not try something like streaming together sometime I'm getting tired of Spotify as is 💀. Remember to ask for continuous feedback and never hold back from a question in the channel me and chief are always there to help! ♥️♥️
@@Friendly__Neighbour Thanks so much, that means a ton :) Honestly, since the holidays are coming up, its due time that we change up the streams. A joint stream would be tons of fun. I'll be in touch
YOURE WRONG!!!! GRAHHHHH! Good video lol. That advice about not filling in large shadows is very useful
Thinking about joining drawabox. Has it been worth it for you? Do you think youve developed a good sense of spatial awareness?
Drawabox is very worth it but just know that it's not easy. Its one of the hardest courses you'll ever do.
I was laying in bed. Body ache and tired. Just woke up after doing the tedious job of doing nothing, tired and felt like doing nothing, and had the marvelous well thought out plan of doing nothing for the rest of the day. Until, a strange sounds echoes my head. I paid it no mind as I regularly had ear ringing that resembled a high tune note. Then there were voices, some soft, others mighty, singing in harmony. Of course, I just thought it was my head again. So I focused myself on other thoughts such as how lazy I felt just laying in bed, how I could be practicing drawing right now but didn't have the motivation, how I felt like I couldn't actually draw, Or how I would feel just get a regular job to make ends meet instead of falling my dream. Then your video came to mind. I remember saving it to my watch later playlist when I was just doom scrolling through TH-cam. I wanted to learn perspective ana start getting back into the flow of drawing. I decided to get up and give it a try. Hoping your video would be promising at teaching me something. Suddenly a burst of motivation hit me. So I lifted myself up, tretched down from my bed to grab my pen pencil and my book. That faint harmonious sound slowly returned as I got my phone from under my pillows. Turn my phone on and I was exactly 11:11. I'm taking this as a good sign.
Wow, I'm glad this video could have been of service! I can't promise that you'll learn much from my streams, but doing something that you love for a day will definitely help you learn whatever you want. Get some rest, take it one step at a time, and best of luck fulfilling your dreams! Remember that the most important part isn't aiming to become some masterful artist in some arbitrary amount of time, its making daily contributions to our skill, however small, to cultivate our artistic capabilities :)
You earned my sub :3.
Fire stream Kav! good luck with your exam on Wednesday
I'm gonna need it, thanks! See you Friday's stream!

I didn't know about drawabox until i watched this video and it was something i was looking for a long time, thanks.! I hope you succeed as an artist!
Glad to hear you found it! Best of luck, and keep us all updated with your accomplishments!
Congrats on breaking 200 episodes, Kav!
Thanks a ton, and to 200 more! Or... at least however many it takes to finish DaB 😅
Woaa... The dedication is tremendous
Commented on your community tab, lemme know if you were able to see my comment :)
Believe it or not one of the main characters in my manga is an otter haha
This is the video that made me sub weeks ago :)
Glad to hear it, man. I love your videos and can't wait to see what you make. You should give Lesson 2 a try 😂
@@kavel_draws thank you so much, you seem like a fun person, looking forward to getting to know ya :D I look forward to your reactions to my videos, I’ll reply to any and all comments :D thanks for your support and I’ll be sure to have a look at lesson 2
I’ve been really enjoying your art streams! Just wanted to throw out a thought-maybe consider setting up a regular schedule for your live streams? I think it could help more people (like me!) catch them live. It’s always great to see your work in real time. Keep doing what you’re doing! Thank you for sharing your time and artistry with us.
Thanks for the kind words! It's kind of embarrassing that I haven't made/posted an official schedule yet. I'm going to figure out if there is a better way of using TH-cam's in-house stream scheduling system, otherwise I may make a weekly post of all the dates and times that we'll be streaming. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks again, and hopefully see you live sometime!
@@kavel_draws No need to be ashamed. You are in the beginning of your youtube road trip, a baby content creator with a fresh and likeable presence. Currently I am building a discord server for artists to sell their art, and a drawing art workshop. For the drawing workshop I have only text and images. I wanted to make a youtube account on how to, but on graphic design and connect it with the discord server. But, I found you. : D Discord is good for building community and loyalty. I will go back to you about this subject after I finish the server. If you are interested you can become art workshop trainer, doing the same thing you do now. And about me I finished art uni.
Problem is that this only covers form and observation which relies on perspective and light so it’d be good to get aquatinted with the basics of those 2 subjects just the rules also you can read through some nsio tutorials and for perspective I’d recommend James damelio and for light color and light by James gurney just skip the color part then also study not only from photo references but also others drawings trying to focus on the way they draw not the actual drawing. Try also always imagining when you don’t really know what to do your brain should give you a hint of how things should look like and in general keep image of what you want to see on paper in mind don’t just draw blindly.
All of these are great and valid recommendations! This video, specifically, covers Drawabox's Lesson 2, whereas the other lessons within Drawabox may brush against or specifically address the topics you have mentioned. Drawabox is not a comprehensive art course, but instead what can be described as a "tutorial zone" for the fundamentals of art. Thank you for all of these resources!
I just wanted to tell you not to stop, even if the views and likes are low. You will do great in the future. Your work is very valuable. Keep the good work and thank you for sharing your teachings.
Also learning. Will follow the lessons in this stream till I catch up. Thanks for this.

Start 3:50
Totally forgot to add timestamps to this video, thanks for the comment. Just added them!
Is it for beginner also
Drawabox is for everyone, especially beginners! Its a great way to get started with art, think of it like a tutorial zone for a video game.
Excellent video!
waiting for lesson 3 review
Uhhh I'll *definitely* get on that soon 😅
Dude, love this video, subbed, glad to see someone else on their art journey and putting in the hours to get better. And I'm so glad you said straight up front that lesson 2 is hard. Uncomfy says the jump is big but I've started my first texture analysis page and, I'm just not getting it, so it's reassuring to hear other people struggled with the jump too. Textures are hard!
@@Gingrnut Textures are hard, but doable! If you have any questions feel free to drop them here or head to the Drawabox discord, feel free to @ me there as well. Best of luck and thanks for the subscription!
Im doing the last homework assignment on lesson 2 and I will say your explanation on textures really helped me out. Like it clicked out of nowhere so thanks! Subbing so I can steal your knowledge later
