I bought this record in '64 at a Ben Franklin 5 & 10 store for 49 cents. And, it was,'t until I got home that I realized I'd been duped.

They needed the Byrds' 12-string guitar to pull this off. The vocals replicate the original quite well.

Now I need to find some of his stuff again since I have heard this song. I completely forgot about him until now. Wished I had kept all the country/bluegrass vinyl I had when I was younger. I donated it now I’m a vynl collector again because I missed it

My mother used to sing this song, well at least the chorus. She didn't have a particularly good singing voice, but you overlook alot when its your mother. Thanks for the memory!

I have this version on my iPad from the Gospel Favorites from Hank and Bocephus. I like to think that Bocephus band did the overdub for this, even though that’s probably not the case.

Look guys I was just kiddin' about the strings. I have the MGM RTR tape of more Hank and strings and I like this kind of thing. All of the 50s tracks are still around. This overdub is a great sound and if it is on CD I would buy it if I saw it.

The label looks newer than 1924. I’m assuming it’s a reissue

i have this exact same record, i use it on my victrola VV-IX but cannot figure out the RPM.
