The PROPER WAY to adjust and Setup Coilovers (helper springs required)
มุมมอง 8497 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was resetting them on my 2G DSM but will apply to any Coilover setup where you can fit and safely install helper springs... This sets bumpstop and ride height for compression and rebound to give as much travel for the piston and droop as possible for more traction during cornering. " NOTE" Short shock types might not be possible and some spring swaps may be required to allow this, so calcu...

Awesome video FIBA Motorsports! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the whole arm replacement! ❤
YOur coilover vid came across my feed today. Subscribed and am looking over your stuff. Did you make or buy the fender mods and skirts. Really interested in seeing more on that. Enjoy the content!
Hi super sorry for the delay in responding back. I missed this comment I made everything you see. It's based upon a vision I had so went with it and tried to make it come to life and It cam out pretty good for a hand made design. Thank you for liking the content and Hope my future videos are helpful to you also
Can you tell me the part number of the filter? Kind regards
31915A6000 is the GT and possibly others fuel filter part number. its what i have used a few times now since I have owned this chassis
So the gasoline Ceeds from the GD generation have only this in-tank fuel filter? Not the usual fuel filter between the tank and engine? Because I'd like to change the filter in my 11yr old 1.6 GDI, but couldn't find it under the car
Sorry for not seeing this sooner. so the GD looks like it uses the same filter as the JD. so NO other filter is present anywhere else unless someone has added one for some reason
@@FIBAMotorsport no problem, thank you very much for your answer! That would make sense, since there's really nothing under the car looking like an usual fuel filter and there's only high pressure pump under the hood. Then it's settled. Thank you once more and have a nice day!
Thanks for making DSM parts! #SaveTheEclipse
Well done, great replacement part. I hope you sell a lot of them to all the dealerships
might not be dealerships but I hope it helps people when the time comes! nothing worse then having to buy a whole knuckle for this as eventually none will be left
Absolutely killer!!
Cheers dude. nothing worse then a bad shock pin without a better solution then OEM to corrode again and again
Dude once again, thank you for continuing to support the platform so many others have walked away from. Awesome work!!
always welcome! I am glad to make parts for us, as random as some are but they are needed in their own ways. I just make things better that's all lol
Can you talk more 1:29:59 about what we can apply to it to keep it from aging ?
So any trim restorer, silicone or general car trim cleaner will be fine. just don't use hard chemicals as you would not use most harmful on a car anyway but the normal store bought car care products will be just fine
Thank you for helping keep these cars alive
Just doing my part to help out. These were a huge project and so many suffer these going bad! I am just glad I got it all done and developed for you all
What shock setup are you using?
Answering my own question: the shock adjuster looks like "BC", and they look like BC Racing for the 2G Eclipse.
@@KevinBuckham1 correct. They are BC BR and I just customised them to suit so radial and spherical bearings all around. I wanted full movement
As soon as I get mine powdercoated, I'll send you a video and some pictures! Will be a very beautiful addition to the race car!
Great!!! I look forward to this dude. Thanks again for the support on my products and me, also glad to be a part of your build. Will look forward to seeing the end result
About time you got this up Bobby! So glad and very thankful you were able to get this up to help with this!!!
I am going through many videos trying to bring them out for people as it may help in some way. No point in keeping them hidden right. Glad to be of help and thanks for watching
1. oh man oh man, just found your channel, Ive been a huge fan of your fab work for a while now ! great to see you walk through some mods and such 2. There are a good amount of Prius parts at junkyards local to me or on ebay but dang it you made a great point about the weight of the steering at the end there. I'm on 285 wide tires with a depowered rack so I appreciate your comments in the video, and I think I share your feelings on preferring a weightier feel. just dropping that bit casually like I didn't already want one of every part you make for a 2g.... 3. All hail the algorithm lol, cheers!
Thank you for the kind words and watching most have opted for the prius as its cost effective to do. I would love to have a custom setup for our chassis ready. maybe one day. but yeah the wider tires really do need help. OEM ratios are hard enough but my quick rack was tighter so wider made it harder on slow speeds so EPAS was needed then. It was always a possibility to require it but until used not fully known, Thankfully we had some options. I have looked into a PS setup but the costs are a lot more due to the amount of machine work needed but then no need to convert to EPAS also so perhaps balances itself out. many ways to go but time will tell
This is awesome!!! I can’t wait to redo the rails on my Talon! Thank you for serving the DSM community when so many have left the platform. Cheers 🍻
sorry for the delay in response. Most welcome, I love these chassis and will do what I can to keep them going strong with modern designs and products from OEM+ to aftermarket, I got the chassis covered for us all for many years to come
Can't wait until mine comes in !
Great news! I'd like to go EPAS with your custom rack as well. For autocross, manual steering isn't ideal.
I really appreciate all the innovations you continue to bring to the DSM platform! I'm saving coin toward the Quaife steering rack!
Thank you. It's a game and I like to overcome challenges. I am working on a bolt-on pan for us all but development is slow currently. I have 1 last shot at the quaife rack group buy, if that fails to hit 35 orders I will be forced to cancel forever and never do another batch on those. I hope next time I can fill the slots
Thanks for making this video! I've been wanting to tackle this for a while and it's great to have something to reference.
most welcome. The drip rail kit is a great kit to fully restore them to original quality! once done you wont notice that its a refurbished kit and will thank yourself for making the rails look brand spanking new again! any other question please feel free to ask on the DIY drip rail kits.
So stoked for these! Gotta support a fellow Gould too!
Haha The Wife and I said the same thing when we saw this. Gould's rock
Nice work
Bit of advice on the torque marking for the nuts/bolts - just mark them all, nyloc or otherwise. Nyloc nuts wear over time and can loosen and you never want any of these nuts to loosen.
Can do all bolts and nuts for sure. Might aswel since the pen is supplied. I persinonally replace nylocs after 3 reuses anyway depending on location. Once used i tap the top to re squish the nylon part more after 1 use and undo for extra safety. Never a bad idea marking alot of stuff though, more so if your out on track alot and vibrations are higher
