How to spend one day on Mackinac Island
We drove from Chicago all the way to Mackinaw City where we stayed for the weekend and spent just one day on Mackinac Island. There were several reasons we decided not to stay on the island which we've discussed in a previous video.

staying in Mackinaw city now. The island is a one day and done for us. Weather is great this weekend. People, if you have kids, stay in Mackinaw City.

It's great that we only live 8 miles from the park. It's so much less crowded on a weekday if you can make it.
Just dont stay at the crown choice inn. The owner is a scammer and the hotel is filthy.

That looked like a pretty sweet family getaway! The hotel plus all of the discounts is pretty sweet. I am not sure if we have anything like that here in Ontario Canada. Something I should look into!

unfortunately we only got to see the East Bluff on this day because we had other things planned and were running out of time. Definitely next time! I am STILL feeling the burn in my legs lol

How many hours were you guys there? This seems like a lot to do in just a few hours.
@travelqueen-o2r we were there for about 5-6 hours. Honestly, we kinda wish we stayed on the island but we got a lot done in those few hours.

@@funtripsandtravels Excellent! I highly recommend you try to come back in the spring. Piedmont Park has their wildly popular annual Dogwood Festival (4/11/25-4/13/25) and it's also the perfect time to see the spring gardens right next door at the Atl Botanical. Make sure you bring plenty of allergy meds, as the pollen is in peak!
