Season 1 for me and I've done exactly what you described, clearance jobs priced way too low and sweating by lunchtime knowing I'm nowhere near half way through - physically shot by the end of the day and morale tank empty safe in the knowledge I've got to go back in the morning to finish off! Lessons learnt but slowly getting better at it - still lots of pain to go through no doubt but posts like this are so helpful. Oh and I definitely skip around with my mower and strimmer making almost no money but I am happy at least 😆 Great video - thanks for posting!

@@MattCooper10 Hi mate, I would get some flyers or business cards made up and post around your local area and local shops etc. then share it on social media also. I have a Facebook business page for example. Once you start working and posting pics of what you have done for others, word gets around. Don’t worry about being full time employed either, that’s a good thing while you build up your customers and profile. Wages still coming in are needed whilst you do all this. Depending on what type of work you want to do, this dictates your sales drive and pitch.. for example I specialise in garden clearances, lawn management and landscaping so I Taylor my adverts and socials around that. Best of luck with it mate 👍🏻

@@cathgoulbourne8301 Hello, thank you for you comment 😊 Yeah border works can be tough but if you have the tools for the job it makes it easier. I use a tiller a lot of the time to get in and turn soil over and then weed by hand once everything is loose. In relation to pricing I always show the customers my previous before and after photographs and advise them that although this first visit will cost a little more, once on top of the borders, the future visits will cost a lot less. I never give an hourly rate, just a visit charge. Hope that helps it if you want any further help please feel free to ask 😊 All the best JP

Hi mate, thank you for watching. Yeah it’s a good tool but it’s not like a full on rotavator/tiller.. but for compacted stuff I just loosen it slightly with a spade and then send this through is and for its size it’s very impressive and has saved my back a lot of pain. You are spot on but whatever business you have you could use the same principal and remember if you have a week off to go on holiday or you are ill you don't get anything

Hi nice set up, wish my van was that clean and organised 😂 I currently use a swb vw caddy, looking to upgrade to something we also can use for camping (taking a tent) with family, wife and 2 kids so need something with at least 4 seats, thinking about a pick up but don’t think the cab will be big enough for all my tools etc, what’s your view on pick ups to use for gardening? Think a van would be better for tools etc, but don’t get the seats. Cheers, look forward to watching more of your vids, just subscribed.

Hey thank you so much for the sub and for watching. Yeah pick ups are great for gardening but obviously having expensive machinery on the back is a risk when on jobs etc but there’s no denying that for chucking stuff on and tipping waste etc they are great. I clean my van out every weekend, it does get a bit dusty etc through the week but because of the board o we the bed and the floor cover and liner it literally takes 20 mins to clean and turn back into a camper so it works for me. Really appreciate you subbing and there is so much more to come from the channel now we are started. All the best JP 👍🏻👍🏻

Price it for what you need or want to make a good living. If someone wants to waste their time doing it for less then let them carry on. They won’t last long
