I’m Deborah - author of the series ‘Reflections On The Decline Of Belief In Science and Religion’ which are modern parallels to Charles Babbage’s ‘Reflections On The Decline Of Science In England, And On Some Of Its Causes’ and his ‘Ninth Bridgewater Treatise’. I discuss issues affecting Gen Z, from family breakdown to the overuse of social media, which in turn have led to a generalised distrust in systems, authority and the sciences.

Reverend Dan tells us that he was an atheist who once hated God but that can't be so because it's like me saying that I'm a mermaid / merman skeptic & hate Neptune.
That's my kind of party.
Thanks for this video 😊. You know what is crazy? As soon as I messed up my brain with insomia I could see eye floaters. The doctors told me that I had them probably before and know I just can not tune / filter them out. I could not believe that my brain befor filtered out those annoying black dots. But know I think the brain has more power than I imagnied. I can tune out things like floaters. So you are probably right about normal body sensations. Sorry for my english. Wish you a great day 🤗🙏
Thank you very much for your Video 💫👍. I suffer from visual processing difficulties since I had insomnia and massive panick attacks. This I think messed up my pathways in my brain. I am recovering now. I have to retraining my brain to process again visual things normal. I have like visual snow syndrome at the moment. Blue light entopic phenomena, excessive eye floaters which eye doctors do not see and photophobia etc. Did you also had or have things like eye floaters? Thanks for sharing your story 🙏
I had all of those symptoms too with lots of flashing lights in my line of vision too. What was interesting was, all of these symptoms decreased to a manageable level during the time I was training my eyes. I didn’t actually have to tackle those symptoms directly, they just slowly decreased as my brain was learning to see again. I look forward to hearing how you get on! Xx
@@BabbageIsBack Very interesting. Thanks for your answer 😊. Looking forward for new videos about this topic on your channel. My brain also learns to filter visual disturbances again. Main visual filter was very very broken after many weeks of panic and insomnia. But my brain heals from that. Thankfully the brain is such a great thing that it can recover from many bad things 🤗

Update: Austrian under Germany’s Rule
I'd absolutely love to see data on the home ed population in relation to activity. Mostly because the population is really varied. Some home ed kids during lockdown opted to return to school because they were more restricted than kids in school during lockdowns - schools were prioritised over the activities in sports centres, group meets in parks etc in that time, they were really left to just struggle through. Then there are the kids who struggle with neurodivergence, mental health issues etc, and then there are the 'types' of parents within that cohort. We home ed. My kid is at a club this eve, when it finishes I'll remain sat in my car while he has extra time running around and playing with a friend because he can't do that in our street. Our road in particular is so narrow that cars mount the kerb to pass each other. It's not ideal.
Extremely interesting point - thank you for your contribution!

Congratulations on the book. This is really interesting. Will there be an audiobook?
Thank you Marion! Very soon yes, but it will be available initially as an RNIB Talking Book - this will make the audiobook available (free of charge) for anyone who is blind or visually impaired. X
