I find the fact that Gatlin was still regularly breaking the 10 second barrier at 39 years old to be a feat just as impressive as Usain bolts crazy sprint times.

Gatlin is the sprinter who had no weakness. His start was a 10/10 his drive was 10/10 only his speed endurance wasn't a 10. Powell was the same.

A cheat his career in athletics means nothing

Very good athlete that got punished for mistakes and unfortunately people didn't ever respect him again afterwards which is sad, he trained just as hard as all the other athletes and if another great athlete like Bolt can stand up for Gatlin why can't we all give him the credit he deserves.

Bolt may be the greatest ever but Gatlin’s grit and perseverence are what I can relate to the most. Another side story - he is a great friend too. He drove and helped his Jamaican friend/training partner Novelle Williams-Mills to run errands when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. Novelle didn’t divulge this information to many and had to train intensively for London 2012. To someone sick and being far away from the support from her family, Gatlin is a true friend.
