I use to watch my mother at our dining room table sewing her heart out, making dresses for all her little girls. This is where my passion of sewing began. My first gown I had sewn at 10-11 years old. I also fell in love with crocheting the same time.
I took afew garment sewing classes in college, sewn a few outfits for my first office job! Later I took up quilting BOM at Hancock fabric in Manassas and have not slowed down my passion of quilting since.
I love the colors, the feel of various types fabrics (and yarns) and how this can be manipulated into magical things.
So I will always believe my mother is the reason for these wonderful skills I have today.
So I share my videos (4/23) to encourage others to learn this lovely art of sewing/quilting. What a wonderful, fun skill and the quilting community is very supportive! I also share my helpful tips along the way. Thank you!

Started on a small project; a baby quilt using flannels in various pinks, purples and green. Shared how its is important to press fannels vs ironing. Flannels will stretch easily. Etsy.com is where I bought my flannels. I am a big supporter of small businesses. FB quilting/sewing group-StuckinStitches Instagram-StuckinStitches63 FB Crochet/knitting group-The Twisted Sisters
Working on my Heart of America quilt

Working on my red and white star points. Discussed how I mixed up the reds in a pleasing fashion. Shared how I place my pin point ing towards the edge in which I will sew my quarter inch. I also shared why I place my pin in from left to right on the block and that is so I can pull back the pin just enough without going over the pin while having the ability to keep my fabrics still secure.

Working on the last four star blocks with the “Heart of America”FREE quilt pattern. Question for my audience-How many vintage sewing machines do you have? 1? 2? Are you a collector?
New quilt pattern started, update on the Singer 301A and a future baby quilt may be in the works.

Started Heart of America quilt pattern. Free from Fat Quarters and Pat Sloan. Gone on my scraps of reds. What do you think? Use them all? Update on my Singer 301A and where things stand. New flannel fabrics and toying with the idea of a quick baby quilt. What do you think of the colors?

Together my husband and I cleaned & oiled the Singer 301A. We ordered missing parts and polished the chrome pieces. We also found the manual on line; printed and had it bound. This will go back to a family member to sew with! Very fun project and easy to do! My Sweetheart quilt is ready for the long arm quilter. I found my backing through Spoonflower fabrics. Sashing on rows 9 and 10 for the sweetheart quilts. Also adding afew more blocks for my cascading Diamonds quilt for contrast. I laid the blocks out and noticed I did not have enough contrast. Sewciopath tee shirt from Etsy.com. Type Sewciopath in the search bar and it pops right up. FB quilting group-StuckinStitches Instagram-Stuckinstitches63 FB crochet group-Twisted Sisters

Sewn rows 6-10 on my Little Sweetheart quilt. I realized I had sewn too many blocks with the sashing attached. Seeing this in real time you see me pulling these sashings apart and making adjustments. We all have had days like the right? So next step is my sashing!❤️

Straight line quilting. Quick quilting straight lines on my Thanksgiving table runner can be a valuable tool sometimes.

Fast and easy table runner for Thanksgiving. Beautiful fabric with pumpkin theme along side of gold and black fabrics makes the pumpkins pop! Rounded corners to soften the look. Also I wanted this to lay flat on the table so no spills. So I opted out for batting with this. There is no right or wrong on this option.

Nice teaching , your sewing machine sounds a bit loud. Might need adjustment.
Looks like it is going to be nice! Can't wait to see the final result.
Your Singer machine is goregous! Love your quilting! Keep going! What Singer is it?
Welcome to the vintage machine addiction. It's a beauty!
Thank you!
What a lovely 301a longbed!
Very interesting video, but your sound is very soft even on the highest setting. Just thought you should know.
Thank you. I will check my volume next video.
Love it! I rehab'd my mom's 1950s Pfaff 130 thinking it would be decorative and a nice memory of her. I got so into it that I got it working. Now I use it all the time for making quilts. So it turned into a better memory of her than I had planned!
Good ideas!
Thank you! 😊
Nice quilt
