Who was responsible? What was the process? You must organise to oppose conservatism within the party which purports to be anti-conservative! Talk a little each day.

Hello Pamela. Sorry for the delay in replying. Thankyou for watching and commenting and I hope the collection of pictures brought back many happy memories for you. I don't personally have any family links to St Hilda's myself but growing up on its doorstep and knowing its history and importance in the birth of this area the place has always interested me. Kind Regards.

This is so sad to watch, a whole communuty gone, buildings and people. And what is there now, nothing but wilderness. It's exactly the same with South Bank, the council demolishes and builds nothing. The area has been devastated by the council, WHY.

Hello and Thankyou for watching and commenting and apologies for the delay in replying. I do wish I had taken pictures in my younger years, the dramatic change stirs many emotions & memories. Nothing remains of my first Home, first School & Secondary school, first Flat after leaving home, fist workplace, beginning to think I'm a Jinx. Thanks once again👍

The photo of Heagneys staff stood outside the shop, my mother Margaret Vickers is the second female from the right on the front row, aged 17 years old.

One of my favourite things about making these videos is when people share their own memories and connections to the pictures or location. I do genuinely find it fascinating & interesting and I thank you for watching and commenting. I sometimes struggle getting 'Now' pictures of South Bank high street because the space that the buildings once occupied doesn't seem as big as i thought I remembered it in my late teens early twenties Ive sometimes wasted rare afternoons of free time getting totally the wrong angles. kind regards bvgb921

Hello Anne and a big Thankyou for watching and sharing your memories. Sorry for the delay in replying to you. We grew up in Alexandra rd and this might sound daft but I always liked burnsville rd and the fact you had walls outside your houses. It only recently dawned on me that Alex was the only street without them, I wonder why? Sorry to hear you lost your dad at such a young age and I hope this video and others in the future bring back nice memories for you. You are right, the people were good people. Thankyou once again . Kind regards

Another absolutely amazing video. So much has gone. It's now over 40 years since the goods lines between South bank and Whitehouse closed and it still causes problems

Good Morning. Another Big Huge massive Thankyou for your kind words, it is much appreciated 👍 The change still blows me away tbh. I often curse myself for not taking pictures when we were growing up and often wish we had had easy access to a camera back then. In my lifetime alone the change has been dramatic so those older than me who witnessed and worked in all those industries must be even more blown away. Anyhoo, have a good day and once again a Big Thankyou 👍
