Race 2 I was rooting for you. As said above, 3 & 4th gear you have a bog when changing, def worth looking at the ratios 👌 Your confidence looked much better towards the end too

You could definitely tell your driving was so much more consistent and neat that you made up time on the other cars through all the corners. As you get used to the car and trust that it won’t go bang you will get quicker and faster. And yes we could see you were having a lot of fun ! 👍🏽😎

Not using running in oil ?

Was thinking oil cooler as the recent change, did the sandwich plate have a thermostat or in circulation all the time?, possible airlock if cooler and lines not manually prefilled first

The oil pressure sensors, especially the vdo ones don't like engine vibration. I knocked 3 of these before realising, and chassis mounted the sensor with a AN line from the engine to the sensor. This troubled me as its just another failure point, so splurged out on a Stack solid state electric gauge and sensor kit, mounted to the engine, and haven't had an issue since.

My guess is that perhaps there was an air bubble in the oil cooler lines that made its way to the oil pump………..like I say just my best guess

Weren't you puzzled why the crank pulley had only 4 bolts? All C20XE's have 6 bolts on the crank pulley and 8 bolts on the flywheel. As well as the pistons that the engine came with - those are 100% not XE pistons, they look a lot like C20NE pistons with their domes. It almost looked like as if someone fitted a red top head on a C20NE bottom end, basically the same engine block, but minor differences like the pistons and crank.

Good effort! Hopefully Nick controls his right foot on this one……..
