For DayZ that artifact comes from the launcher. If you close it out, it should go away, there's a setting to close the launcher everytime you press play.

I hate win10 and I've always hated it. It's the 2nd worst PC OS I've used only surpassed by win11. Absolute buggy trash. I just felt there are no other alternatives but it seems Linux is mature enough to change to. I'd have to tinker I guess to make game performance almost native

SecureBoot works on arch, Ubuntu and fedora so can you mostly keep it on even with Nvidia drivers.
