Are you still wearing flux trainers
Definitely go half size up. I baught the Adapt Trail Runners. I am 12.5. Got a 13 and it fits good but the elastic around the ankle is not tight enough. When you bend your knees it makes all kinds of gaps in the collar. I don't have skinny ankles either. Just something to consider.
Which shoe would be best for standing all day? I work in healthcare and stand 100% of my day and have just developed plantar heel pain. I usually wear Xero Prios and Oshwegos. Recently, I switched to Altra Lone Peak 5 for the comfort of the stack height/cushion, but the bottoms are pretty aggressive for the mats I stand on. They leave Inprints. Thanks.
Hi, would you say it will work well for wide feet? I wish they had a wide size...
100% does
How have these worked out golfing? I got a pair of adapt trainers and when I saw these adapt trail runner I instantly thought of them for golf.
Hey Mateo, how. tall are you and are the support arms height adjustable? Thanks!
Would you recommend the adapt runners as a good shoe to wear for both running and doing some weightlifting? Seems like a good all around shoe I could get and benefit from.
Ahh Josh. My apologies for just now responding to this. You definitely could. It's not my jam personally, but I know a ton of people who love them for all-purpose use. I'm a big fan of the Adapt high top & low-top trainer for lifting specific & then I wear the Adapt Trail & regular runners for running specific. If you're looking to get the best bang for your buck for just 1 shoe the adapt runners/trail runners are the best way to go for sure :) Hopefully, that helps - Mateo
Did you review them as a golf shoe yet?
Why are you stuck in 2015
Check out the The newer Whiten trail shoe. The newer trail shoe they have are FANTASTIC!!
Do you have a link?
I saw so many barefoot running shoes online and these are my absolute favorite. It is very unfortunate they don’t ship to Europe, so I would probably have to order some third-party shipping services (and hope that the size would work). I read a lot that Altras Escalante don’t last long and they are of course don’t look as cool. And probably vivobarefoot isn’t something I would get as I am searching for the ‘one shoe travel’ basically for long trips, runs, heat, rain, trail, road, gym. Thank you so much for a detailed review. Initially considered adapt waterproof runner but glad I saw your videos and would definitely go for newer trail version.
Thank you for this thoughtful review :) I hope they do expand to Europe for y'all. I know that international shipping & trusting the sizing to fit right is a journey. Thanks for sharing & engaging with this video. Keep me posted on what you decide to go with (even if it's a different brand) or if they end up shipping outside the U.S. later this year. - Mateo
How do I receive discount code?
Hello :) Unfortunately, Flux Footwear canceled its Ambassador Program. Which means all of our codes are no longer active. I'm super bummed about it too. Check their website around the holidays for any promotional discounts. - Mateo
Hi, I am a massage therapist so the main thing I’m wanting these for are 12 hour shifts massaging. But I also do boxing and hiit workouts. I have narrow feet and really high arches and a bunion on one foot from years of ballet. I just went to Vegas for 2 days and I got shin splints so bad all over my feet, heels, calves, shins, knees. So I’m wanting to retrain my feet to avoid that happening in the future. With my job and my high arches, which of the two between the trainers and the runners would you recommend?
Hi :) Yay, we love our massage therapists :). I'd definitely recommend starting with the RUNNERS. They have the widest toe box & the most cushioning. Cushioning is crucial for those of us who are on our feet all day. I'd recommend the TRAIL RUNNERS they are the best all-around flux shoe in my opinion. With that said over time the flux trainers can be a more stylish option. They are more aggressive on the feet for those transitioning from an unhealthy shoe to a more natural healthy shoe because there is less cushioning & it works your foot muscles more. My barber wears both he started with RUNNERS & then bought the trainers later. All of this to say I think the RUNNERS would be the best option for your needs :) - Mateo
I just tried your discount code you have in the caption and it didn’t work! Is it still active?
Hi Erin, Unfortunately, I just received an email letting myself & all other Flux Footwear Ambassadors that they are discontinuing :( their program. Unfortunately, that means no more discount codes. Sorry for any inconvenience -Mateo
Just fyi that flux discount code you have is saying it is invalid.
Hi Sean, Unfortunately, I just received an email letting myself & all other Flux Footwear Ambassadors that they are discontinuing :( their program. Unfortunately, that means no more discount codes. Sorry for any inconvenience -Mateo
@@mateofrancodc oh man that stinks.
Hey! I just want to thank you! I bought these per your recommendation. They were cheaper than some other golf shoes but crazy comfortable and I think adorable. You were right! The tread is perfect for the golf course. The support of the shoe on up to the ankle is fantastic. Thank you!
Did that discount code work for you because it is saying invalid for me.
I don’t see a code from here but I did get a discount. I can’t remember what it was from. It was only a 10% discount so I got 14.99 off. Paid $135 for the shoes. I’ve golfed with them twice now and do love them.
Janet, thanks so much for this comment. I'm glad you are enjoying them & enjoy utilizing them for golf like me :) I hope they are helping you shoot lower golf scores than I currently am lol :) - Mateo
@@JanetPodczerwinski how have you found the grip with them? I am gonna give a pair of the truelinks og feels a try since the ones I got from them are leather and not as flexible as the mesh before I may pull the trigger on the Flux Trail shoes.
@@seancca I actually thought the grip was great biggest concern! But, I feel theyt grip better than my actual golf shoes that I am replacing and have a better (thicker and most like a rubber cleat) tread than other genuine golf shoes that I was looking at. The barefoot design also aids with the grip as I feel my feet are not pinched. They are spread apart and i feel there is more grip digging in and I am more balanced. I have now golfed in these several times since my first comment and I love them more and more each time.
Definitely my next brand of running shoes. Still in between trail and regular since I have mostly 50/50 concrete/trail in all my regular runs. How do the trail ones do on concrete? Thank you.
My apologies for the delayed response on this. I run in my trail runners all the time on concrete :) I'm biased towards the trail runners since I can use them for basically everything. Since there are so many trail runner studs it feels nice & flat. I think you will be extremely happy with the trail runners once you get them for trail & concrete :) - Mateo
This seems crazy expensive for a manual treadmill especially since shipping isn't included in the price. It is also bulky as heck -- though the bottom folds up (I think) there's no where to put this thing except in the middle of the floor. I'd like one, but will wait until version 2.0 where it will no doubt be either cheaper, or have a few portability features...
Nice review, must work really well. but just for reference. Get a used manual treadmill, you can get them really cheap: Cause nobody wants them :P picking mine up for 10 bucks.
Can you weight lift in the low trainer? Like CrossFit Olympic lifts? I’ve been doing my workouts in wrestling shoes
Great question. You definitely could. Getting the sizing would be the trick. I know a few people that love them for that. My personal favorite shoes for lifting & all around gym movements are the adapt high top trainers. 👊- Mateo
Thanks for the review! Similar to you and others, I’m trying to transition to barefoot but the truly minimal barefoot like vivos just kill me on concrete and I definitely wouldn’t run on a hard surface with them. I’ve run or done city walks in Altras which have felt great… but they just look so clunky and dorky as most running shoes do. My only question was if the whites would stay white/ stains would come out in the wash. Flux claims that they do and yours look nice so I’ll give them a shot!
Thanks for this comment. 100% with barefoot on concrete or hard flat surfaces. It depends which whites you get the adapt high tops clean the best all others technically they do clean up pretty well depending on your confidence in cleaning shoes. If you're like me I'm really hard on anything white so I'll have some marks & things that won't 100% clean out, but they definitely look way better after a clean. Hopefully that is helpful & you'll have to let me know what your experience is when your 1st pair of Flux footwear shoes come in :) - Mateo
@@mateofrancodc totally! I went with white which I think will be OK. I certainly don’t expect 6 month old white shoes to look brand new (or 2 or 3 months…) but I’m hoping I can keep them looking at least presentable and not like brown for walks around town
@@mateofrancodc and I used your code:) thanks!
Thinking of getting the trail runner shoes for all day adjusting (I’m also a chiropractor) as well as the grounding features for when outdoors. Would you recommend these for practice?
Welcome 👋🏼 Eric, stoked to see a chiropractor on here👍 100% the trail runners are my favorite Flux shoe. I just bought my second pair. I wear them all the time in the practice too! I think you’ll really like them - Mateo
How comfortable is the forward sled push? You look kind of cramped/awkward on it.
Wonderful question. It's not really uncomfortable the only issue utilizing it for a forward sled push is its length. My feet fall off the back when I try to take a full stride. - Mateo
Can you turn off the resistance and sprint forwards on it?
Hello & great question :) Yes, you can turn off all resistance & sprint forwards. This wouldn't be the best treadmill for that in my opinion because of its length. My feet fall off the back when I try to take a full stride. Hopefully, that helps - Mateo
Hi. From South Africa.. I have an extra lumbar vertebrae, and my c-spine curve in the wrong direction and an unstable si joint. I also have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, dysautonomia, mcas and some other problems. I make use of a wheelchair, because I can't walk. Everything is wobbly. We can't really figure out the exact reason why I can't walk, and why all my joints seems excessively floppy. I used to be a professional ballroom and latin dancer, now I can't walk 2 steps..
Hi 👋🏼 Michelle, thanks 🙏 for your comment & sharing your story 🙂 That’s a lot to be experiencing & I’m sorry to hear that all of this is keeping you from you passion as a dancer 💃. I have seen patients with the symptoms & dysfunctions that you have listed above. If there’s a chiropractor close to you who can take X-rays 🩻 & who can confidently deliver specific adjustments to your spine, that would be my recommendation. The body is intelligent & designed to adapt. It sounds like there could be a lot upper cervical nerve interference. The C1/Atlas is a very commonly misaligned bone that can put stress directly on your brain 🧠 stem (approximately 72 Trillion) nerve fibers. Very common in dysautonomia, MCAS, & Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Regardless every human functions better & has a better quality of life when there is less stress on their nervous system. I hope this helps - Mateo
can you use these with the PROTALUS inserts for Plantar Fasciitis? or any inserts for that matter
Great question. I'm not sure on this one you could always order them & try them and send them back if they don't fit with the insert. All the flux shoes have a sewed in insert, except the "Trail Runners". The trail runner insert is removable. The Adapt Low Top Trainers or the Adapt Trail Runners would be your best bet. - Mateo
I have pretty flat feet. Would you recommend these for every day casual wear?
Great question 👍 I have pretty flat feet too and I love them. The census for comfort seems to be the trail & adapt runners #1 for comfort then the adapt low top trainers. All the runners definitely have more cushioning. I wear both the runners and trainers, & I do great in both. Trail runners are more personal favorite cuz I can wear them really everywhere. Hopefully that was helpful - Mateo
Did they have to align it or did they just send you on your merry way? I’m only asking because I think I’ve broken the same toe as you but I don’t want to sit in A and E.
I didn’t go anywhere. I just let it heal naturally and started doing some light tractioning of it after the 1st week and PEMF from the time I broke it until the 3 week mark 🤷🏼♂️ -Mateo
Awesome video! I tried to apply your discount code to my order and it appears that it doesn't work.
You are welcome 👊Thanks for letting me know! I just tested it and it is still active & working “DRMATEO”. I’d double check it & if it didn’t apply the discount definitely message flux footwear support & they should rectify that for you 👍 hopefully that helps -Mateo
@@mateofrancodc Thanks so much for reaching back. I tried it again after clearing cookies and it worked! Cheers!
I wonder if you place it closer to a wall if you can just put your hands on the wall when you're actually pushing it like a forward sled. It seems like it would be more comfortable and also you wouldn't be able to move the machine since your feet are moving the belt but then I feel you'd have a little bit more of a natural feeling
That’s a terrific idea thank you for the feedback 👍
I was going to buy this one but the SledTred from Tibbar Guy came out around that time. I ordered in Jan so it will be here in the next day or so. I love Ben Patrick's teaching and even used his program. Nothing better than being able to sled in the home. Congratulations and i am now subscribed. I will be doing my review in the next 2 weeks
I have seen that too. Not going to lie the Tibbar guys equipment looks legit. I’d love to see your review definitely comment a link to your review here I’d love to check it out & thank you 🙏 for subscribing. I greatly appreciate it👊
Wider toe box than altras?
That's a great question. I have never worn Altras. I transitioned from vivo barefoot shoes to these. All the Flux Runner lineups have a wider toe box than my barefoot shoes. I asked a few endurance athletes who have worn both & they said the toe box width for the flux Runners/Trail Runners feels the same to them as the Altra (Wides Lineup). Hopefully, that helps - Mateo
Is hanging and doing pull ups actually help with the spine and shoulders or is that a myth?
Great 👍 question! To truly know the answer to that it should be studied under some sort of diagnostic imaging while pull ups or hanging is being performed. Personally I’d say it tractions the arms, shoulders & traps more than directly the spine itself. - Mateo
Very use full sir
Is their stuff for your neck my arm shoulder upper back neck have been killing me for 1 year and a half I’m 20 been doing all treatments what should I do
Hi 👋🏼 Tom, I’m biased & I’d definitely go to a specific chiropractor in your area. 1st some one who will take full spine X-rays & create a custom plan to fix your upper back, neck, shoulder, and arm pain once and for all. Definitely not a normal thing to have at 20. I’ll attach one ☝️ of my videos to explain why that’s important th-cam.com/video/T5qU-MHtgYk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zJcCPugFAPCeZ50Z As far as the ATG app it would definitely be awesome for what you’re experiencing depending on what’s causing it. They have joint & body region specific exercises & programs. Including the mid back, neck, shoulders & arms. Specific chiropractic & the ATG helped my low back regenerate & heal much faster, I still utilize their programs nearly every day. Also, if you want to DM me on Instagram I’d be happy to help you look for a great chiropractor in your area instagram.com/mateofranco_dc?igsh=eDY1dTB3MTE5eWJo& I hope that helps -Mateo
do the waterproof runners run small because they are stiff and tight or because they are actually smaller? I got my waterproof runners and my toe almost touches the end because I didn’t size up, but I also ordered trail runners after I ordered those in the same size and i’m wondering if those will actually be a little longer? I just don’t know the reason for why that one runs small if it’s just stiff or if there’s an actual size difference because I can’t stand my toes being that close to the end but i’m hoping I don’t have to return both
Yes the waterproof do run small unfortunately😔 due to the waterproof material. All other runners fit true to size for everyone that has given me feedback. I’d definitely send them back & get the right size or another pair of trail runners 😉the trail runners are my absolute favorite 🙂 they fit true to size so you should be good with those. If water proofing is important to you too, you can buy water proofing spray on Amazon & apply it to any of your shoes to water proof them:) I hope that was helpful, pls keep me updated on what your experience is with the trail runners 🙂- Mateo
I wish this was a bit more concise and to the point. Just some honest feedback. Seemed like most of the convo wasn't about the shoe itself
Thanks for your feedback 👍 -Mateo
How loud is it?
This is a 1st, great question . It’s quieter than the treadmills at the gym by a lot. I use it next our bedroom while my girlfriend sleeps without an issue & next to our home office too without an issue. Since its intent is high resistance it’s pretty quiet since the speed stays relatively low. I hope 🤞 that was helpful. Great question 👊 - Mateo
These could almost be perfect for disc golf too but seeing other reviews on their other shoes the knit upper doesn’t have any huarache straps or tpu over lay so it doesn’t stabilize the midfoot enough so durability could be a big issue there but also the sole needs to be designed for cement/concrete rather than trails. I’ve tried some zero drop trail shoes for disc golf but the sole wears down so fast because we throw off of concrete teepads and the rotation from backhands really wears down the sole too quick.
Thanks for the comment! The 1st place I wore mine was going disc golfing right after it rained. I was very impressed with the traction & water resistance. I didn’t have any issue with with of those all day. As far as the durability for consistent disc golf use, definitely something that will need to be tested for sure. If you end up getting them I hope you’ll leave us a review on the durability to help others looking to use them the same way 🙂 thanks for comment 👊 - Mateo

Gotta get this! Im on my feet all day for work. Are there any shoes you reccomend that are easy on the knees? They kill me by the end of the day
💯 this has been a game changer for me! I’m excited to hear how it helps you when you get yours 👊 As far as the shoes I’ll attach a link 🔗 to a video I did on my favorite shoes. The flux footwear adapt runners / trail runners are great for people on their feet all day. I just got my barber 💈 a pair. You can use the code in the description & it will save you 15% too 👍th-cam.com/video/YfB6W2tOCes/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gMyI7NKm05bWlVcR - Mateo
@mateofrancodc thank you so much! I'm getting a pair
@@sportsgenius91 you’re so welcome 👊
Thanks for the great review! I have been looking for a good trail shoe. I tried some waterproof shoes and HATE how stiff they are. I don't see on the website that they are waterproof, but if they dry easily, that works too! I'm going to get them soon and I'll get them good and wet and do a review!
Yes please 🙂 do! The trail runners are definitely my favorite! I have worn them through creeks and puddles and haven’t had an issue yet. I know a lot of endurance athletes that told me they would water proof all their shoes with this ( a.co/d/2u1bf7E ) spray too! And plz do create a review 🙂 I’d love to hear your thoughts - Mateo
Just bought the adapt trail runners would you say its great to use for weights and running so like the gym where i can do any type of workout in it??
I’d say yes to that, they are my favorite all around flux shoe. I wear them to run & lift in. I also wear them hiking & golfing. I think you’ll love them. I’d love to hear your thoughts on them once you get yours - Mateo
What are you're thoughts on the blue insole? And midsole?
Thanks for the comment 👍 The insole is one of my favorite things about the flux shoes. It’s supposed to feel like it’s massaging your foot 🦶. I don’t really feel that but it does distribute pressure more evenly to all parts of the feet, which keeps my feet from being sore after being on them on all day. I also believe it’s a huge part in what makes them so comfy :) - Mateo
I only wear zero drop footwear with foot shaped toe boxes. Do they have an arch? Hoping they don’t. Also curious about how long their soles will last in real hiking conditions.
Thanks for your comment! I'm the same (w/ the zero drop & wide/foot-shaped toe boxes). The adapt trainers (low top & high top have more narrow toe boxes, even though they are wider than regular brands) All the adapt RUNNERS have a TRUE WIDE TOE BOX. They DO NOT have an ARCH :) purely a zero drop on the inside too. As far as the hiking, I live in Kentucky. So lots of the trails I do are mainly mud/dirt (not rock/sand) & my trail runners have held up great & still look brand new. I wear them golfing to the gym & basically every wear unless I'm dressing more casually. Hopefully, that was helpful! What shoes are you specifically looking to purchase? - Mateo
I got the adapt runners and love them. Are the adapt trail runners waterproof? I would get those if that was the case. Or just wait til they make a waterproof version.
I'm so happy to hear you are loving the runners:) I can't confirm that they are waterproof. My experience in them walking through puddles & a creek, is I haven't had any issues. Even wearing them in the rain. So, I would say they are very water resistant. Also, I have heard a lot of feedback that people are just using this spray ( a.co/d/eVP52qy ) to waterproof all of their shoes :) I can definitely say for me the trail runners are my favorite all-around shoe of the Flux Footwear lineup :) Hopefully, this is helpful - Mateo
Is there a cheaper alternative anywhere? I’d love one of these but it’s so expensive
Not that I'm aware of. Local gyms could potentially have sleds that you could pull backwards or treadmills that you can control the resistance on. That's what I used as an alternative until I purchased the backwards treadmill - Mateo
just go search online for used manual treadmills, easy for 10 or 30 bucks.
My only issue is the toe box looks like it needs more vertical space. The rest looks great!
Thanks for your feedback :) Is there a specific shoe that you are referring to needing more vertical toe space? - Mateo
Thanks for reviewing the adapt trail runners, been looking for a video explaing how well they feel / perform
You are welcome! They are definitely my all around favorite of the flux line up so far! - Mateo
