Great effort Amy. One thing I noticed here, is that when you have a chance to hit an attacking shot up the line, you had many opportunities to advance to the net but didnt, and ended up losing a few of those points. This is one of those matches where a few points make a difference. I really think you need to actively practice aggressive patterns, to get you to drag yourself to the net and finish points. Its a numbers game, and if you can win key points, this can make the difference.
So many great hits. Y'all are amazing regardless. 👏
You should have taken her to a third set
You missed, but at least you tried!
I'm here from the changeover podcast!! : )
you seem a lot more assertive on hard court... but it could also just be the different altitude hmm.
你需要强化力量训练,加重你的球拍。然后你会进入一个全新的境界。祝你好运😉
Love the way you hit and move around the court. Great finesse and grace with power. 💪💪
Love your play style!! ❤
You have a solid game, can’t imagine if you had a coach how much better you would be. Keep it up.
I think you did exceptionally well throughout the tournament! You definitely played to your strengths and positive results ❤🎉 keep it up Amy, we right there with ya!! 😊
👍
Loving the new smooth intros!
Well, I think she beat you physically. The girl runs a lot.
Those chances to take the second set was not good but you did your best, keep striving your goal gurl
Well played! Keep on grinding!
I love your videos. You remind me so much of my niece who had to give up tennis due to lack of funding. She is from Madagascar so travel and getting recognized is very tough. Anyway, you are an inspiration. But can I ask a favor. Please please identify yourself before each match. I have to work to figure out which player is you.
Great content. I buy you coffee too if you let me know your secrets how to hit ball like you. 😂
road to wta ranked 2000
Great job getting to the finals! That semifinal match showed just how strong your mental game is now.
So happy to see so many positive comments from so many nice people!
Great run! Amy. Congrats on your second finals! I kept telling your Xiaoyi fu to get you a coffee. He never did😤
Almost = didn't
Great job getting to the finals. Pretty tight finals too.
Wta for sure
Amazing bounce back from the last tournament to make it to the finals! Your serve and that short cross court angle shot winner were unstoppable, and some really crazy rallies that you did a great job of finishing. Feels like your mental game is getting stronger each tournament - good adjustments throughout the tourney, the flip flop three setter semi's win and the finals to push her to the limit in the second set. Way to hang with someone in the 300's - you were there with her shot for shot, and you looked like you belonged. Really great stepping stone result - keep pushing for those finals experiences and building that focus/confidence, and you're gonna take one of these soon enough!
Also, it looked like you got to the net a lot more this tournament than others, and you finished a lot of points at the net. Your net game is pretty strong! Was that a change in strategy?
omg you are so talented, i wish i could play like that, im wishing you the best <3
great match. how come female tennis TH-camrs never do videos about their racquet, or strings or do a what's in my bag video? good luck on your journey.
Wow, you can really tell the level of fitness between the earlier rounds' ladies and Yamalapalli's. Good work Amy!
That perspective when the vietnamese lady goes to the net to shake hands! Shes so cute! Amazing how she handled those high balls
🐐 🐐
Keep up! You did a great JOB. You could have won. You seem have much solid stroke and just crucial point did not work the way you wanted. Love your channel and cannot wait to see what comes up next!
Great run Amy! You're knocking on the door just gotta push your way through. Love your forehand by the way, very compact but potent. And as always, love the content. Side note, I love Ly's backhand. I'm a sucker for a one handed backhand.
Love your competitiveness, you did well.
Congrats!! Great camera angle. Enjoyed watching the rallies.
Great fighting Amy. You should be proud of yourself.
Great job amy! Makes me want to play an exhibition against you!!! I play in the U16 Boys ITF juniors. Trying to get some points just like you
Great playing. Keep it up! Hope you get some time to hang out in LA.
Some insanely well played tennis Amy, unlucky with the final result either of you could have taken it. On to the next!
Holy moly Amy! @7:10 you look like John Isner next to her
I like the intro at the L.A. observatory. That's the spot where Schwarzenegger entered L.A. as the Terminator, seriously 🙂

Nice playing you can't be too disappointed in that. Playing pretty much dead even with someone inside top 300 in the final. Good job
You definitely fought back, you weren't dominating with your forehand placement and your serve but its a good sign for things to come! Lol the inappropriate clapping and then perplexed expression from that guy later was hilariously annoying. Keep up the grind, you're bound to break through soon!!
Hang in there
Do you have a coach?
Yes I do
@AmyZhu200 is it true that players who are ranked higher than you make less unforced errors not more winners?
Amy, I'm a dad (to an 18 year old female now ex-player), and when I see a similar aged player going through a rough time, I can really empathize; I've seen it many times in our own household. Keep your chin up and keep grinding! One thing I would ask you; when you look at matches like this and overlay the commentary, do you see things that you wish you could work on / improve as SPECIFIC goals? What I mean is, it's easy to say "just play better." But are there a few points you've identified that you might work on? For example, on a few occasions, you had a mid court ball, with time, and you could hit a discretionary shot. You hit a great shot plenty of times, BUT, didnt always come in behind them. The opponent often hit a weak floater, which could have been put away, had you been at the net. So, my point is, be aggressive, and back yourself. Closing the net after a solid approach is a great percentage play. Good luck, and keep going!
Yeah hang in there and I agree with @bigrobsydney on the need to play more aggressively You have a great forehand and I noticed a pattern where after serving you slice your forehand on your return. You should be putting more pressure on opponents and avoid this sort of pattern, particularly the forehand slice
Thanks for the message!! Yea I’m trying to work on trying to stay more inside the court when especially when I feel a bit nervous.
@@AmyZhu200 Not being funny Amy, but I think you have a stronger game than your ranking may appear. Your shots are technically solid, and your movement is superior to a lot of other players. I genuinely think the difference is more around the tactical, rather than the technical. Shot selection. I wish in a way I could work with you, because I think you could really do with some very specific coaching drills.
Good channel. I like this woman's vibe.
Thanks!! 🙏🏼 😁
Great fight! Way to challenge yourself/adjust to win that second set - it's a real skill to find a way to win when you don't quite feel like you have it. And thanks for letting us share in your losses - just as important, if not more important, than being there for the wins. You got this - take it to them in your next tournament! Find that focus you had making it to your most recent finals! Hope you get some time to recharge and reconnect with your support network as well!
Thanks! 💪🏼
