I've got this device 4 years ago and I haven't tested yet I live in an apartment complex and I'm scared to test it so would it be a great idea if I do
Ummmmm, I don’t think so, you might bother one of your apartment neighbors. If you want to test it, do it at the apartment parking lot or something

You can buy an mt on eBay or if you’re lucky enough, you can go to your nearest ReStore shop, you could find fire alarms there

Usually I would cut out square holes on the board but most enthusiasts use surface mount electrical backboxes
