Stereo PingPong Delay Teensy4, Drum track weird sounds
มุมมอง 833 หลายเดือนก่อน
Testing a few more extreme and weird settings for the new Stereo Ping-Pong delay component. Version in the video is using DRAM (RAM2) for the buffers. Using PSRAM is also possible at the cost of roughly twice the CPU load (7 vs 13%)

Stereo ReverbSC for Teensy4.x
มุมมอง 744 หลายเดือนก่อน
Port of reverbsc module of Soundpipe to Teensy4 with a few fixes and upgrades. This reverb is quite RAM hungry, hence there is a version with delay buffers placed in external PSRAM on Teensy4.1 at the cost of CPU load, which is roughly twice (~13%) compared to version with buffers placed in onboard RAM2 (~6-7%).

Vacuum Pickup for SMT assembly
มุมมอง 1352 ปีที่แล้ว
Had one completely broken (dead pump) Ayoue 932 vacuum pickup and decided to give it a new life. I'm not a fan of turning the pump using a footswitch, i already use too many footswitches (guitar pedals!), so this one uses a capacitive touch button installed into the handle. A small finger movement turns on the pump and covers the hole increasing suction. Another small move stops the pump an ope...

Testing new component for the Teensy audio library - 6 stage x 6 parallel paths Infinite phaser effect. Probably not much musically useful, but definitely interesting for many space sound effects. Always wanted to build one using bunch of 13700 OTAs, finally done, coded on Teensy4.1 :)

    Incredible job! Do you think it's possible to integrate also a looper (writing on the SD card) or maybe the CPU will be overloaded?

    can i ask a question : does this board have the Audio Amplifier already integred into that we only have to connect the speaker and no need for a seperate amplifier ?

      The volume and distortion is always a “compression” issue. Because limiters are compressors

    Not related to this problem, but maybe you got any info on getting the touch working with SquareLine Studio? Couldnt find what touch library to use and how to integrate.

    • @hexefxdiy
      @hexefxdiy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Getting the touch screen (resistive one) to work on CYD 2.8" is one of the most often asking questions. It boils down to the pcb design and decisions made by the manufacturer. The two SPI buses HSPI and VSPI are used for the display and the SD card. Examples usually use the TFTeSPI library as the low level driver. This library assumes the touch controller is on the same bus as the display, only the CS pins differ. Well, not in the CYD case, the touch controller is on a completely different set of pins. To solve that i made a bit banged SPI lib which does the job: github.com/hexeguitar/CYD28_Touchscreen Not sure how you would use it in the SquareLine Studio, not using it myself, but there is an example on how to use it with LVGL. A mater of adding a driver. The linked in the description example project uses that library to handle the touch screen. Hope it helps!

    Can you add a little bit more information? For instance what display is that? Thanks so much :-)

    • @hexefxdiy
      @hexefxdiy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not really a display, well a monitor is a display, too ;) Teensy is configured as USB UART+MIDI and what you see is an html page using webMidi and webSerial libraries to control the effect parameters. Screen captured directly from the monitor. webMidi sends the ControlChange commands to the Teensy and Teensy sends back the CPU load and other info, shown in the middle of the screen, which is de facto a small serial terminal window.

    • @hexefxdiy
      @hexefxdiy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the hardware works, but i haven't finished the software part and frankly, i don't think i will. The ardunio part worked, but with the PC side i hit the wall ;) Mainly time wise and currently i'm not even using Windows anymore. I can release the board files if you'd like to experiment, but the original Rob's software did not work with my version buffering the whole track in RAM before sending it back to the PC. These days i wouldn't even bother with 8 bit AVRs, but an ARM mcu. There are Teensy based Amiga Floppy read/write projects, so i don't think i'll be reinventing the wheel.

      @@hexefxdiy aghhhh that's a shame, thanks for at least investigating into making the board. Might be at least worth releasing board design / software / firmware incase someone wants to pickup the gauntlet. Again thanks for replying.

    Hey Piotr, i just looked up the amiga.robsmithdev.co.uk/ site there is a new version of the software :). However im not into electronics but i managed to save a little portion of my AMIGA disks. Most of them went tits up, but the new software has much improved writing, reading and a diagnostics option. Im sure exited about that. I can't get the floppy drive writing to the disks without a additional FTDI breakoutboard? I'm using the UNO... And i am planing a pcb build just like your's but with the pro mini and a separate FTDI. Did you post any information about your work?

    i have build the board sorry to ask (i'm newbie) how to connect the led? because i don't know what rotary encoder gives as output if negative or positive

    • @hexefx
      @hexefx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      INC and DEC outputs are active low, so: +5V---1k----A_LED_K----INC, the same for DEC output. Look for "active low led microcontroller" example.

    • @inot9994
      @inot9994 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for the reply i have measured with tester both the output and gives +5v so i guess i did something wrong. If i have read correctly LOW and HIGH indicate the voltage output for example LOW should be around 0 to 0.8v HIGH 2 to 5v but in my case i have same 5v for both edit: there was a little bad connection and now all works! thanks so much!

    Hey this looks fantastic! Thumb up, two thumbs up!!! Fidiling around with the arduino right now to do the same, I wont my disk collection stored as ADF on my PC. Hope i'll have it done soon, had to buy an Arduino well bought 2 because of the magic smoke. Since im have no idea how electronic works i am taking some distance from powering the Arduino and equipment from my PC, yes the smoke it's evil. Preparing my old pc- powersupply 20pin connector, isolating the stripped wires with collerd baloons. WTF am doing??? Did not dare to make the data transfer from PC to Amiga years ago, kind of a bummer. However got the parts and the progs... P.S. Don't you need the FTDI breakout board additional to the Arduino?
