You made it. Slower last mov't tempo. Good for you. I almost fell off the rails in Finland. I love that you are going after sound, Gilels? Listen to Cortot and Gilels. You are the same, Dolpiti.
Who is the conductor?
Excellent work, excellent performance
One of the best American works. America's Shostakovich.
Admirable el haber memorizado esta clase de obra. Felicidades desde México
Amazing of this difficult pianist work of Barber-Noble prize winner of 1963 of Barber I think
Barber’s Piano Concerto received the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1963 and the Music Critics’ Circle Award in 1964. 😎🎹
@@MarshallArtz007 You are correct
So many years lauded works of Samuel Barber as young musician, hoping to compose. Bought 1st recording, was thrilled at the time. Now realize it as an attempt at modernity. False FALSE and emembarrassing embarrassing
Thank you for performing this rarely played concerto. I enjoyed it very much.
Barber is possibly the greatest American composer of all time. He certainly ranks comparable to Roy Harris, Howard Hanson, Bernstein, and Copeland. Quite a task for a young orchestra and they were up for the challenge. Excellent piano.
i'm not a classical person, but this seems to owe a bit much to stravinsky, don't ya think? give me coltrane's "om" any day.

Excellent!
A wonderful concerto. I particularly like the ravishing slow movement. The Soloist here is outstanding!
13:50 onwards this is just amazing
When I was in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, a young man came and played this with us, and it has always been my favorite piano concerto ever since.
The only Barber music of which I was familiar before was his "Adagio for Strings". This piece is quite varied and interesting and I'm glad I heard it played by a fine pianist like yourself! 👏👏👏
Fantastic!👍🏼
