Just bought a 2003 tacoma with a veitnam and purple heart badges on the tail gate. Just assumed i should probably remove them. Thanks for the tutorial.
Wd40 will clean up the glue

I found goo gone very good at removing the residue myself. I let it soak it for a few minutes and usually wipe it clean. No micro scratches no paint damage (but check first don't take my word for it)
Well said, thanks.
help a lot, thanks for sharing
You can also take a grinding wheel to the emblems ... then just add a little body filler to the metal you've taken out... sand the body filler and repaint... pretty simple
How much would something like this cost??
I really appreciate your video... great advice! Thank you! Question: What are your thoughts on using Goo Gone Adhesive Remover?
Thank you so much for the very complete instructions. I'm very impressed at your performance..... smiling
Just removed my Jetta badge a few minutes ago, paint kinda scratched in the area, think from rubbing the residue adhesive off 😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Does the copper wire itself have to be interconected/woven together like if you’re going to solder it, or does the contact it make with the connector bridge the connection between the two wires without them contacting each other?
Did this to my old car and getting ready to do it to my new car. This works great! I hate Car badges! Advertising for them is not what i want to do~
DEBADGING MY G35 RN 😂😂
Anything that can shrink that tubing is hot enough to ignite gas vapors. I agree with you, though, I prefer a heat gun to a lighter
“Engine replacement at 2k” oh how times have changed…
I don’t have a hair dryer, how do I take the badge off, it’s an old car paint is faded don’t really care? Will the floss still work
Simple, to the point, and direct. Well done.
Thank you, this is very helpful! Now I know I definitely need to add more oil!
"The most complicated way to de badge your vehicle"
It would be nice if you could just check the battery life on the car menu 😂
What a goof
the cover picture answered my question… thank you
is buffing necessary on a brand new car after debadging?
Why not goo gone?
I have found that adhesive remover and a scrub daddy Work awesome
August in texas, dont need a heat gun. Best friends wife is a sketch artist, so i can easily get a bag of used erasers. Just one question....wtf is dental floss?
I just use WD-40 ans use floss, any kind of rope/line skinny enough. Def not recommended but the first time I did it, I used a razor blade 😂 it didn't scratch anything but for the 2nd time I just used my finger nail anD drenched it in WD-40
For determining oil change intervals you can ignore mileage intervals. They're a scam. Instead, look up the oil capacity of your model vehicle. Then multiply by the oil change constant of 200 to find how much fuel to burn between oil changes. Ex: oil capacity= 1.5 gallons x200 = 300 gallons of fuel. That's it. Just change oil every 300 gallons of fuel burned. To hell with mileage intervals because we can't discern between severe and ideal driving conditions. (Between highway driving and city driving)
Another way to do it, is wait for a really hot day (if you’re like me in England) it could be a long time lol, and just using dental floss
Yapper of the century
rubbing alcohol will get that glue off too, or gasoline
Hello. What type of tool is that ... wheel, that disk? What material is it made of ? Thank you.
Video creator/editor deserves a raise
This dude was thinking with his dip stick 😮
Nicely done mate. Many thanks.
Need to remove one letter and put a new one as the paint on the letter pealed off
such lies,
you are an id, no way oil needs to be changed 3000 miles, that's from 50 years ago, and all you have to do is look at your manual. it's so sad that there's people like you on the internet providing absolute terrible information. i change my oil every 20k whether it needs it or not. please go away. you know nothing and you are terrible
Thanks for the video. Here in Texas is 98 degrees; I didn't need the heat gun at all.
Removing model name on rear, makes it harder for any witnesses to identify my vehicle.
Excellent video.
I’ve seen a ton of these types of videos but very few mention the oil burning in the cylinders and the low oil due to the new longer change intervals. Thank you for bringing that to light. This is probably the best oil change advice video I’ve seen on TH-cam.
yeah mine have been burning in the cylinders and killing my spark plugs, this might be why after I started doing every 5k miles
Thanks. The background music is horrible and distracting though!
Saw it off with fishing line. Remove residual adhesive with your thumb. Clean with IPA…done.
After taking off the badges, Nail varnish remover (Acetone) will remove the adhesive just as effective.
Pull that critter off???!!
Worked perfectly! Thanks 😊
Note: If you have a Honda, most likely you will see dark oil after driving on a fresh oil change, it’s just a Honda thing Just make sure to change your oil regardless of vehicle at 3,000-5,000 miles, along with filter, but also make sure to get a good filter like Mobil 1 (cheap at Walmart) that will last more than 3,000 miles because most don’t
