Texas Panhandle⎮ EP 15
During the Season 3 kick-off, we head to Amarillo, TX, and the Texas Panhandle to explore parts of Route 66. We stopped at some iconic spots like Cadillac Ranch and some more not so known places like the Golden Light Cafe. After we left Amarillo he headed to Merus Adventure for a few days of boondocking. Merus Adventure is an off-road park designed for camping and off-roading. But you cannot use Dirt Bikes, 4-wheelers, or UTVs; they only allow low speed and low noise like vehicles. Our next stop was in McLean, TX, where we saw the first Phillips Gas Station.

#RVTravel #CountrysideRVing #rvshow RV GPS Battle (Apple vs. Garmin vs. RV Life)⎮ EP 14 We never felt it necessary to have an RV “Safe” GPS. We traveled for 2 years before we decided it was time. What led to that decision was the countless times our GPS put us down the wrong roads, and we had to back out because we couldn’t get turned around. Our preferred GPS was and in many ways still is Appl...

On August 8th, we left our house and moved into our 2022 Grand Design Reflection 312BHTS. This decision was led by our landlords selling our home and telling us we had to go. A separate screen for Garmin is a PRO, not CON. Sharing one screen for multi functions is a nuisance. You need to push buttons to change screens and that's a distraction while you're driving. Think about airplanes, they put in separate instruments for each function... they know the right way! I just wish Garmin was a little more affordable.

I just traded my 21 open range bhs last weekend. I've watched a few of your videos and couldn't figure out your model. Looks like ours but not sure. We traded ours because the entire time we had it we had nothing but problems. Slide issues with all three slides, electrical issues, suspension issues, the frame wasn't even square from the factory. It was just a night mare! We also switched from a bumper pull with a bunk room to a toy hauler with a garage and second toilet. With a family of six, someone was always waiting to use the restroom.

The Gorman RV, GPS. Gives you more information if you're pulling a large fifth wheel or travel trailer because you need to know about the roads and low bridges and overhangs. It has always got me to my destination safely. Also I pull a forty ft. fifth wheel. PS a low bridge or bad road can make your day very BAD. LOL.

This video is right on time. I'm planning an RV trip from Florida to Canada. I have a 42 foot class A pulling a Honda CRV. I am very use to the Apple Maps App and I just tested the RV Life app on CarPlay. I didn't like the RV Life app. It still has a ways to go in 2024. The Maps app shows traffic lights, stop signs, etc and you can tell when traffic will clear up or slow down. Now I have an old Garmin RV 770, I have never used it. I just updated it and put my RV dimensions in it. So I will plan my trip with Trip Wizard, Use the 770 while in the RV and Maps App when in the CRV.

The biggest selling point for the Garmin is the ability plan and save routes ahead of time.

Great video, some useful information for me. I played with the RV Life app about a year ago as we use RV Trip Wizard for planning. The app wasn't there yet, sounds like it still has some glitches. We use our Garmin like you whenever we are hooked up to our 5th Wheel. The Garmin will show an icon when it doesn't have data on a side road for bridge height, so you always have to watch. Our apple phone is what we use with our other Apps such as All Stays, Open Roads and others while traveling. Crazy how much we depend on technology today. Great Video!
