Greetings!
This project began in December 2023, one of my viewers gave me this destroyed, extremely rare bass guitar from the 1970s
For a long time I couldn’t figure out what to do with this.
After a month of thinking, I decided that I wanted to try painting it with acrylic paints, adding a little ethnicity.
I really like George Harrison's Stratocaster and I've been wanting to make something similar for a long time.
So, in this video we will clean everything thoroughly, repaint it, add a little art
Of course, we’ll install frets, wind new pickups and be sure to listen to how it all sounds.
Enjoy watching😉

I didn’t like working with the frets, they are quite difficult to...

Greetings friends! This video was not supposed to turn out like this, I have been looking for this guitar for sale for a long time to do something interesting with it, to try some new materials in guitar building, but when it came to me I realized that this is an extremely rare guitar in a very good condition. The person who sold it to me said that they had found it in an apartment that no one ...

Huge Jumbo Frets...

well they may not last very long but for those that have fitted bone nuts and bridge saddles+pins on an acoustic id imagine the sound for the week or 2 of use would be incredible. just hoping they made custom bridge saddles too to get the full effect
Ни слова за весь видос, Но думал он об одном: Лишь бы не накосячить и запороть краску.

Am I the only person getting messed up orders from stewmac lately
I didn't know classical guitars had a radius fretboard. (05:18)
Once it’s tuned up, it should sound even better.
Que capricho de trabalho com excelência
It still says Squier🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 Looks great Nice job
Well they will never come....never😂
Looks like a realy very good STRAT!
Customer states that he wants to play heavy metal..
What did the buffalo say of this? Why not a human horn? The humans with the tail and the goat feet, those have horns, don't they? No, kidding! I guess this sounds great.
Sanding the saddle is the action of every so called perfect setup. The string break angle is crucial to the sound of a guitar. The geometry is obviously off and the guitar needs more sophisticated work done on it. Typical for Martin Guitars.
Is that like playing a scalloped Guitar?
Che qualità!
Que pésima restauración
Nut frets lol
Can’t imagine those will last that long
i saw another video of someone installing massive frets and i called them railway tracks. but DAYUM these make them look like they belong on a ukelele
Where can I find these? lol I love stainless steel Jumbo or super jumbo frets!
"Hello, I'm Argentine and I live in Spain, so it would be almost impossible for you to do that work on my Strat. But I would like to know if it's possible to get the same fret size you put on that Strat, and if you had to do that amazing work on that guitar, how much would you charge? If you'd prefer, you can reply privately. Thank you very much. And your channel is excellent, the things you do are fascinating."❤❤❤🙂
Reverse scalloped
Play with the higher trimolo? 😂
didn't realize that you could install railway tracks on your fretboard🧐
👍👍👍
Окрема подяка за 5`nizza
Crazy that it's still fixable. Amazing work.
No, crazy that owner didn't have this done far earlier. You simply don't toss such a nice guitar in a corner. You play it!
At the end (14:45) when you start playing those bar chords? I thought the guitar sounded really metallic (almost as if the frets were rattling against the strings) but then I thought no, it's just the guitars sound?and was that played with a small practice amp? I wish u had played the guitar first, before you changed the frets, to see if it changed the sound at all. I'm very very curious, because I DO want to put on giant frets like this for many reasons but the sound sort of scared me off. For the LIFe of me, I dont get why people put small frets on a guitar!!, They slow you waaay down, your finger rubs against the wood etc. the feel is slow and terrible. So why?? I've read where companies like Martin use the smaller frets for intonation?? Because, as u know, a high fret, can allow you to push too hard and go sharp (to me this is silly, I've been playing for 50 years/ I know how to press lightly/ and that's how the guitar should be played if you want any speed or real feel/ one of the first things I learned was to not play heavy-handed. I feel like things like fret size aren't really well thought out, and people just do whats traditional without questioning WHY it's traditional, and the answer is usually the same, becuase THAT was the only resources they had at the time and then it just stuck.. like string gauge, they only had one size or few sizes, but now? We have a lot of choices. I feel that everyone should know that lighter strings are better (as proven by frequency analyzers and players like Allan Holdsworth who used 7's!! and got probably the FATTEs tone out of a guitar ever heard (for single notes) and so are bigger frets/ makes your guitar play super easy, that way u can focus on music and not fighting the damn guitar. This whole macho thing like SRV who used 14 gauge high e's?? seriously?/ haha. anyways thanks for the video
JAJAJAJAJA!!!
It`s laminated guitar from USSR. I am not sure, that there is a reason to restore it
What's going on with the marker pen on the saddle? It doesn't look very carefully applied? Is it meant to mark material that needs removing by sanding? I would have thought it needed measuring.
What on earth you have to do to destroy a neck like that. You did an amazing job. My heart skipped a bit when I saw that.
Я бы еще верхнюю деку зачистил, отшлифовал и покрыл заново😊
What a Beauty!! ❤
Nice
New Guitar!!
WONDERFUL JOB !
You refret guitars so beautifully. Watching this video, I’ve learned so many valuable techniques. Thank you!
The look good, but they are definitely for someone who doesn't mind spending a lot of time replacing frets.
Ouch! To much filing I think.
15 seconds in and the way u cut those strings, damn. I’m glad that ain’t my guitar. DAMN😢😢😢😢😢😢
Where ur shop at, so i can avoid at all costs
I think you should Make a real pickguard for it
Who needs a scalloped fretboard anyway?
Magnifico
Good work, man.
2x bigger frets vs regular fret -
