I Installed the Biggest Frets, Why?| Extra Dumbo Frets
Greetings.
The idea of making a video about the biggest frets for a guitar has been brewing for a long time.
Therefore, I started looking for people who wanted to install such frets for themselves and filmed the installation process for you.
I didn’t like working with the frets, they are quite difficult to process and after that the guitar looks as if it was made specifically for the Chibson USA blog.
However, the guitar really feels like it's scalloped afterwards.
So this can be considered as an alternative if you don't want to damage the fret board of your guitar.
What do you think about it?
I will be happy to discuss this with you in the comments.

Extending the Life of an Old Fender Precision| Guitar Detailing
มุมมอง 62K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey friends, today there is a new video on the channel about an old Fender Precision 1976 that was in a very bad condition. The strings were changed in the last millennium, the electronics did not work properly, the nut was installed in the other direction, the bridge is completely rusty and the frets are in a terrible condition. I invite you to review how to solve these problems and extend the...

Greetings friends! This video was not supposed to turn out like this, I have been looking for this guitar for sale for a long time to do something interesting with it, to try some new materials in guitar building, but when it came to me I realized that this is an extremely rare guitar in a very good condition. The person who sold it to me said that they had found it in an apartment that no one ...
I Restored an Abandoned Acoustic Guitar| Parlor 1930s

Hey Mates! I have a confession to make I absolutely love discovering old musical instruments. There is something magical about it. In every decision there is a mystery that we are unlikely to discover for ourselves. Like with this guitar. This guitar was made in the 1930s The first time I saw copper frets. I saw a beautiful maple neck under a terrible hornbeam fingerboard, what motivated the pe...

Это шара а не работа
this is fking awesome. i want it!
Are those train tracks?
that was a blast to watch and i'm not even usually into this kind of thing
Hard NO. Full stop.
what's the song you played?
Good God! I thought 6000 were the largest frets, but DAMN! I've never even seen those before. Pretty amazing, but I'll stick with 6000 and/or 6100. Nice work though.
Siempre dispendioso y complejo, pero es una maravilla esta reparación, excelente trabajo, quedo como nueva.
4.3mm ultra mega jumbo..quero saber aonde comprar
What material is this that you use on the scale?
no demo of bending on those frets? cmon
?
Sounds awful... really bad.
Fabulous! Job, I would love to buy some frets like that for my Shop! Thank You! Great Job
Where in the WORLD did you get those Frets
better this if u wanna try scalloped than filing and sanding the fretboard
Потому что так захотел Глеб Олейник
Can you fix my guitar?
In Malmsteens old home studio, i saw ONE guitar set up like that! In fact they MAY hv been BASS frets larger than that!
Am I being trolled? 2500 grit on bare wood?
Fender make CRAP
After all the initial sanding and cleaning of the fretboard...Why did you not cover it before sanding and crowning the frets?
See you. Let me introduce myself from Indonesia. Often watching guitar workshop channels, I feel happy and encourage viewers who are involved in the field. However, there are other channels that are anti-input. I respectfully agree that this channel also cannot accept input regarding guitars. For me, knowledge comes from consumer problems. And we look for the best solution. And knowledge is a gift from God. We're just trying. Even if the world ends, if God has not given us guidance, it will be as if what we have done is the best. But once we find out we will be very ashamed of our actions towards consumer guitars. Well, it's a coincidence that I have been working from 1985 until now and not opening a channel or selling guitar services online. However, if this channel needs help, I am ready to provide a free solution. Except for the technique of installing and setting the frets. Because the results are not comparable to the tools that God happened to give me. So I hope the channel grows in your country.
I’ve got Unicorn bone on mine. It’s the best.
There goes the resale value…
They say everything is bigger in Aussietralia.
My two biggest concerns would be: 1) the feel when sliding hitting all those speed bumps 2) intonation and the physics of string stretch to get over those tall frets. The higher the fret, the more the string stretches. Definitely a look. Very well edited and completed. Good techniques for removal. A touch concerned about the fretboard sanding when you had the radius block but then switched to the beam. Was it still 12" radius after? Nice job though!
Only issue would be possible intonation problems. Otherwise, if one enjoys the feel, then why not?
So informative! Lotsa great stuff here. So many tricks I will use on my next refret job. Love all of it... except the part where you used the DeWalt to screw in the neck! Yikes! Playing w fire there... but wonderful overall.
I dig the jumbo fretts and that nut killer job💪🏻👍🏻
In 38 years of playing I have never seen a guitar with these large of frets. Seems you did a great job on them and I would trust you to do a fret job on my older Ibanez RG550. You have a business adress?
I'm open to any suggestions, but you should know that I'm located in Kyiv, Ukraine
@@mr.k1t Darn it. Ive been looking for someone who I would know what they really doing to restore my Ibanez RG back to its regular jumbo frets. But hat is a bit far to send my guitar for me. The cost alone to send it would be horrid. But hey, you do nice work.
@@DreidMusicalX Thank you, I'm sure you will find someone
With the superglue pipette, you don't need to melt it with a lighter. All you have to do is pull the tip with a set of pliars and it stretches out thin.
😮😮😮😮You forgot to protect the side of the scale with tape!
Why heat the frets before removing them?
Крутая работа! Тоже подумываю себе 4.3 поставить может))
Это даже не 4,3 получается. У 4,3 высота 2,6мм а тут 2,9 мм получилось. Интересно где он их купил? не могу никак найти.
Una gran aberración!!! Ahora es una guitarra normal y vieja. Es Rusa y tiene 7 cuerdas. Lo siento, no lo has hecho bien y has estropeado una gran guitarra.
Could a guitar be fretted with obsidian?
Loved this. No blahblahblahblah, none needed. edited so well it was clear what you were doing. And the mellow stand up bass track was perfect for this.
Magnifique
Need a light touch or goin sharp. Often extreme changes in fret size can lead to intonation issues, do you experience any?
How about a strat?
Beautiful work. I have a friend that's a luthier and love watching him work.
I’ve heard of brass balls but never steel nuts🫤
Did u used a template or something? Where can i get a template?
Neck reset time !
