It would be more helpful if you could recommend brands you like. I'm having trouble finding a long leash with lots of bungee for an energetic large dog.

Hi. I have been trying to find the type of Eskimo hook that you’re showing but no success. Did you make them yourselves or can you let me know where I can buy some?
You can buy the Tugline Toggle from Alpine Outfitters (just the plastic Eskimo hook) with or without a tugline.
Hi, can you help, what is the best tipe of harness for canicross to a American staffordshire terrier?
I have tried and see many Staffy breeds use the second skin / tough skin harness from Howling Dog Alaska.
I'm interested in getting into canicross but I'm curious: does this encourage pulling on normal walks? Would it ruin any loose leash training I've worked on?
You can train your dog to know the difference between when it’s doing canicross and a normal walk, using 2 different harnesses for walking and canicross can help, it will probably actually help with loose leash walking since your dog will have that chance to run and exercise and it won’t feel such a need to exert itself so much during normal walks
My boy knows the difference in his normal harness which he can't pull in and his canicross harness If you only use the canicross harness for pulling they soon realise
Very clear, good information for getting correct fitment - thank you!
Great tips! Thank you! <3
i recently adopted a dog and have started to run with him. i am having an issue where when he runs beside me and occasionally he will cut directly in front of me. (he does this sometimes when walking also)(he is a cattle dog) the last time we went runnning he did it and i fell over him and hurt my ribs when i hit the ground. should i be working with him to always make sure he is running well ahead me? i think that is what you are suggesting in the video. i don't have a problem getting him to start running although he does want to sniff some during the run. like i stated earlier our issue is him cutting across in front of him. should i use be using this method throughout the run to make sure he stays in front of me or is there a better total run method for keeping him in front of me? also when we play fetch, he returns most things but tennis balls he likes to play a bit of keep away with it.
Thank you for this video! Great tips to follow!
My dog is 6 years, he is healthy and very energetic. Ive never do any kind of exercise with him. No more than going to thw park and lettting him runing around. However, imrecently i decided that i want to do canicross. He is a golden retriever. Any suggestions?
Can you link to where to get the Eskimo hook please 🙏
Hellow trailrunners Nice vídeo! Could you help me ? Every day I walk my dog in the morning (7:30 am) fasting for 50 minutes - 1 hour. I started researching and saw that exercise (run in this case) is critical to having a balanced, happy dog and establishing a stronger relationship with the owner. Googling, I just turned up your channel and I learned a lot. I have some questions, could you help me? I would be extremely grateful. 1-I only give ration to my dog twice a day. Continuing with this fasting morning routine, how long after the run should I feed him? 2-Can I run with him every day or he has to rest some day? 3-Have you ever experienced a situation where your dog does not wish to feed on ration food? what should i do? Put the ration for a few minutes and then remove and only give the next meal?? Thanks a lot for your attention.
I will answer as best as I can. You should wait a while before feeding your dog if he has done heavy exercise. You should give a little water as soon as you get back from the run. You might want to feed a lighter meal after the run and a bigger meal in the evening. Mixing water into the meal will help with re-hydration. It might be beneficial to walk/jog slowly on some days and do a longer/faster run a few times a week. It will also help you get in the best shape possible and minimize the risk of over-exertion for you and your dog. If possible, don't let your dog pull you every day. Pulling is like body building for the dog, so it should only be done a few times a week, in order to give muscles time to build themselves back up. If your dog needs a lot of exercise to stay happy, try to do different kinds of exercise on different days. Don't forget mental stimulation! If your dog sometimes does not eat his food, take it away after ten minutes and wait until the next meal to give food again. If the dog has a sudden change in appetite or skips several meals, take him to the vet. Mixing some wet food with kibble can make it more appetizing. I hope this helps!
