While understand his sentiments and agree to a certain extent I must say that if his argument is for the inclusion and promotion of the native languages of the Subcontinent then the languages of the South like Kanada, Tamil, Tulugu, and others must also have their day in court, no pun intended, as must other North Indian languages like Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Martha. Otherwise you have removed the Colonial Supremacy of the British with the Linguistic Supremacy of the Hindi-Urdu belt. I say this as someone who is a native speaker of Urdu and from across the border where we also need to learn to elevate the regional languages to be on par as official languages recognize in the Government Institutions across the subcontinent.
