Ok, as a Metal-er here's what im unable to understand: just EXACTLY WHY do so many Yutes compare bands to DragonForce? YES, DragonForce truly IS a good band, and I'll be the first to admit that. That being said however, EVERYONE seems to think that DragonForce is the absolute BEST Metal band EVER, and EVERYONE is CONSTANTLY comparing other Metal bands to DragonForce. It's BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that those who do so are Yutes who were not even born yet when Heavy Metal was in it's HEIGHT in the early 80's to mid-90's, LONG before DragonForce existed. DragonForce simply continued on the legacy of Metal bands that came BEFORE them. Although in complete honesty, I can't HONESTLY blame the Yutes nowadays, simply because they DON'T KNOW what REAL Heavy Metal is like. Im speaking as a Metal-er, NOT as a so-called 'metalhead'. That being said however, even back in the early 80's to mid-90's, Lovebites would have CONSISTENTLY been in the top-10 list of Metal bands, that's how talented these Ladies TRULY are. Just saying.

As a drummer and a keyboard player myself, it’s really weird watching non drummers react to a syncopated but simple kick pattern and be so focused on that that what CH is doing on keys just blows by. Larnell is great but don’t forget that Nate is supplementing over on percussion but you mostly don’t see him while you do see Larnell. So some of what you hear is not Larnell and a lot of Lingus reaction videos get caught up in that and don’t even notice that Cory is just ripping the roof off even on the little things like his pitch bends. OMG, do people realize how hard it is to just trigger those pitch bends so perfectly on the fly for a split second then move the left hand back down to resume your comping?

It was most likely in or near Denton, TX …as this was a ‘back to the roots’ session and where the band was initially formed. Since you like SP and DL, have you tried reacting to Jacob Collier? He is a multi-grammy winning genius who deserves more reaction videos.

To me, the snare/cymbal combo sounds like either a really sharp snare or a really dull cymbal. It definitely different! I love Bill Laurence doubling the kick drum on the piano 😊

I think it's also incredible how Larnell Lewis was able to be visible even during one of the most outstanding keys solos of all time...

Fun fact: the band founder/leader and SEVERAL of the members cut their musical teeth performing on sundays in Dallas area black churches playing gospel and praise music. And the late Bernard Wright... the Texas Tech guy... was one of the early influencers of the band. Check out his solo on the song "Take It" from this session/album.
