Hey Guy! I am kind of going through the same process. Are you able to get the 12 month visa extension? I have heard you need a work permit for that.
Hello Sam, Thank you for your message. I think I can get a 12 month visa, but for that I'd need a working permit. I'll probably get that and apply for a 12 month visa for next year (as it is only available till the end of the calendar year.)
@@NomadicinAsia Thank you for the information. I have heard that it is easier to apply for the 6 month visa each time. I suppose it depends on your activities in Cambodia.
hello

I left Netherlands for brazil in 2003. Absolutely zero regrets. Also found my wife here. Wish you all the best
Thank you Jeios!
Hi Guy, my advice: take time before you act. First join a business club and discuss with the members the issues where you are strugling with. For sure other expats meet the same problems as you have.
8:30 It's the 183 day rule. It's because you're a tax resident of Cambodia. They can't collect money that belongs to Cambodia so to speak. If you had corporation as opposed to a sole proprietorship it would work, but then you have to file corporate tax in NL and income tax in Cambodia. Good luck
Thank you for the explanation bro. I guess I only learn by trial and error.
Glad to hear you're acclimating well!
congratulations! Keep in mind that while some parking is free, most parking is 500-1,000 riels, so always have some small change on hand. I agree that random tuktuks are taking a chance with safety. I either order a car on Grab or use a tuktuk driver that I know. That is rare because I usually ride my own moto. Maintenance is very cheap. I always take mine to the Suzuki dealership and it is $5 for an oil change. They don't charge any labor - only parts. It was about 5 years before I changed the brakes - about $20. If you get a flat tire, the roadside mechanics fix the tube for a dollar or two.
I pray for speedy recovery🙏
Like your insights Yanyan
Yanyan?when is this?I hope you are ok.
This is exactly what I supposedly ask you about, specially the water, Ben felt the same when he was here in Ph.
hey im a few minutes in.. how much was the total cost?
The total bill for 3 days in the hospital was $2600 dollars. Luckily I have insurance, but it's still going to cost me.
Oh you poor guy! It's very scary to need medical help in foreign countries. My experiences with medical staff in Egypt and the Nederlands were definitely positive but I just find the vulnerability hard to take. My heart is with you.
Thank you LLS
bronchitis is horrible. I'm glad you are able to get treatment. Just let me know if you need me to bring more food. It's also a good lesson to make sure you have travel insurance!
I did all of those
What a load of bullcr*p. Is this all you got? Please don't annoy the TH-cam rs.
If you're going to play and live with indian's then you need to accept and act like an Indian
Are you in vacation or student, working?
I'm actually a freelancer working overseas.
Which dollar US?
Yes
If I get bounced from Philippines which is possible by ex wife, I'm thinking Cambodia on $7,000 a month budgets how would I be living there
Use an umbrella if walking in the midday sun for coverage
Pick a better time to do it ? maybe ?
I really enjoyed getting to know you better!
Try getting a microphone on yourself for better Audio
Thank you. It's next on my list when time to invest.
The sun are much hoter in Phenix Arizona or Las Vegas
Really? I've never been there before. I just know it very humid here, which makes it feel as if it's warmer.
@@peterkhieu I believe that Arizona is way hotter but less humid dry unlike manila Philippines in the city raining season monsoon season and then sun 🌞 everyday plenty of sun as well we steam here
Can you get lower audio please?
I'd suggest tuning down the audio volume on your divice first. Sorry for the background noises in this video.
Insightful thoughts about Cambodia and its future. Can imagine the island 🏝️ will become another main tourist destination and hopefully doesn’t end up like so many other places!
Can recommend Lake Toba in Sumatra Indonesia, it’s the largest volcanic crater lake in SE Asia. There is an island Samosir in the middle of the lake, it’s an extraordinary natural wonder of the world. 🌍. Interesting thoughts on picking Phnom Penh over Siem Reap, it makes sense in your situation!
I like your honest opinions about dealing with locals and show what the reality is in Cambodia and not sugar coat everything!
Yes tourist areas can be annoying with locals trying to approach you all the time!
It’s best to have very clean dollars in Cambodia, they will not exchange if there are any wrinkles or writing etc. Though I’ve just seen on line the government are making it easier to exchange older notes!
It’s good you are trying to learn the language and take the time to assimilate and get to know the culture, be careful of all the scams, it’s all a learning experience!
Thailand now has a free entry visa for 60 days can extend another month and apparently it’s possible to do unlimited border hops and repeat. Time will tell if this continues. I’ve been to all SE Asian countries, all are great countries to visit. Good luck on your journey, you will learn a lot! There are sea changes going on with migration in the world. More people are moving to different countries, some from poor countries to western countries and some in reverse, everyone wants a better life!
Hello @Roygoayd2870, Thank you very much for reacting to all my video's! There are definately large migration streams currently happening. Have you migrated too? Thank you for you advise about scams. So far I've been able to avoid major ones.
I travel extensively all my life and have spent many years in Colombia, Thailand and for shorter times in another 40 or so countries. Will always go back to my home country the UK as my grown up kids live and have good jobs and fortunately are doing well and I love to be close to them and my 4 grandchildren 😊
Love the new intro
12:42 nice video Guy!
New subscriber number 6. Good luck with your channel & safe travels 🙂
Thank you Lester!
Dankjewel Guy! Fijn om je te volgen en meer te weten over jou en je leven daar. En over Cambodja!
Top Guy! Mooie impressie van de eerste dagen. Een nieuwe wereld.
Mooi Guy! Ik volg je graag.
Good luck. I did the same journey decades ago.
Your correct regarding SE Asian values but the tiny minority bad, is really bad. Careful in Cambodia. Chinese mafia is rogue.
