Jumped to 4 riders brakeaway at 15km marked of the race. Sustained it till 120km with 3.5mins ahead of the peloton till I suffered the worst cramping of my cycling career. (Both legs cramped at the same time) Even though there still chance to jump with the chasing groups to finish a better ranking, I did not gamble for it and decided to rejoin the peloton at about 125km marked of the race and j...

No regrets on how i approached this race. The plan is to get a good position in front before the neutral is over, but given the road condition and volume of riders in this particular race, I admit i was scared, cautious and decided that my health (well being) and wealth (my job) is not worth sacrificing to execute those risky maneuver. Plan B is to progressively bridge the gap from 1 group to a...

My name is Dan Sotelo, I'm a professional mechanic and I love to see small cycle clubs like yours. So I'm going to give you guys some advice so as to avoid costly technical problems and also a big technical tip to make your bikes go much faster and make your bikes handle at high speed like it is on rails... It's call high speed wheel balance. 1. Never clean or put any kind of degreasing solvent(s) on your bike or use those chain cleaning tools. WHY? Because those things soak your chain with solvent which easily dribbles down into your cassette and into your rear hub, also soaks the front chain ring which dribbles down the crank spider and into your BB... Just a couple drops of solvent on or near your hub or BB will get inside and remove that thin film of grease between the balls and races causing them to go metal to metal and ruin your bearings. If you want to clean your chain and cassette remove them, its not that hard. 2. Every week gently water down every square inch of your bike to remove sweat which causes a lot of corrosion and put it away wet. Remember a bike is basically water proof, but it is not sweat proof. 3. If you want to get every tiny bit of performance out of your bike, "You Need To Rotational Balance Your Wheels". Without it there is no way to squeeze all the performance potential from your nice expensive bikes. Here is my e-mail address grizzledbikepro@gmail.com and I will give you instructions on how to do it yourself.. To see my back ground visit GOOGLE and enter Dan Sotelo onZa . Your group looks great! Sincerely Dan Sotelo
I think you shouldn't post this publicly. Better to have it in private and just share it amongst your group or friends. Thanks. -Concern Citizen, the Law abiding one.
