Liza Ray [Official Lyric Video]
Liza Ray is now streaming on all platforms!
You took me out to Ramble Creek
Where we spent all day into the evenin’
I was livin’ just to laugh
Never thought I’d have to give a reason
Liza Ray
When the morning calls your name
Will you comfort me?
I’m feeling all alone
Liza Ray, will you comfort me?
In the morning I am feeling all alone
I can turn the earth and sow the seeds
I can drag myself along behind my father
I can strive for something more
I can sit in a room with walls and boxes
I’ve cut my hair and shined my shoes
Sometimes I forget that I’m pretending
Fools may say they’ve tamed the wild
But there’s a corner in my heart where you’re still hiding
Liza Ray
When the morning calls your name
Will you comfort me?
I’m feeling all alone
Liza Ray, will you comfort me?
In the morning I am feeling all alone
It’s not the nights that are so bad
I’ve got my radio and I’ve got my whiskey
But when that silent sun rears up
A thousand-pound hammer falls and hits me
Liza Ray
When the morning calls your name
Will you comfort me?
I’m feeling all alone
Liza Ray, will you comfort me?
In the morning
OOH
In the morning

This is a song in celebration of finding purpose and meaning in community - a community that includes our more-than-human kin. It is a call to be our best selves, both individually and collectively, and tend the gifts that our ancestors have bestowed upon us. Thank you! 🙏
You play beautifully At certain points it sounded like it was going from country and western to Arabic to Middle Eastern to Indian to all over the world it was very pretty
Oh thank you! Yes I am influenced by many world music sounds and am not sure how to accurately label this tune 😅 That’s the beauty of music though.
nice!
Much appreciated!
Made me lol
😄
I thought it was Hells Bells for a minute
Ah yes!! I hadn’t thought of that but I hear it!
Thought you were starting “tear drop”
Ha! I might try that now though.
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
amazing!! this calmed me a lot
I'm so glad!
Too effeminate for me

This is great❤️❤️. Thank you so much my friend for the wonderful share😊. Sending you much love and a big like from your new friend👍👍👍👍
Much appreciated, thanks for the support!
One way to figure a good song is that After hearing it the first time, it stays on your mind so you want to hear it again. And again. And you want to learn the words so you can sing along. I may sound like that chicken in the background, but I sing along, anyway! Your strong voice speaks to the hills as they remind, “we are not alone”. 💞
@tulipthicket I am touched by your words. I feel this song came to me as a gift when I really needed it, and to know it is impacting others means the world. We are not alone!
@@CrispyWatkins Grateful and thankful!!!
Goosebumps. I'm loving the intensity and chillness combining here. Well done, Crispy! 👏 Also this song makes me want to hike the Appalachian Trail with you. Start near Knoxville and head south? 😀
Yes! I’d love to hop on the trail with you. One of my favorite places the trail runs through in TN is a beautiful bald called Max Patch.
Amazing!! The chicken is perfect. 😆
Thank you!! Isn't it though? 😂
So great, Crispy! I love the new songs and the lineup; beautiful! Did you get a recording direct from the board as well?
Thanks Jesse! It's been a real joy. No, unfortunately I didn't have a good way to do that, so all I have is from my phone. I'm thinking about ways to get a better recording for the next one!
Miller.... 😈
Oh Milller, we love to hate him, but isn’t there a Miller in us all?
The ladies are singing Guy Clark’s Magnolia Wind. My favorite versions are just Guy with a guitar & the live of Guy, Verlan Thomas and Shawn Camp 2 master guitarists.
Great spirit captured
Thank you! What a fun show.
Well done, great song! Love the Tiny Desk Community. ❤ super cool guitar too! What’s the story behind that guitar??
Carbon fiber acoustic/electric! Check 'em out: emeraldguitars.com/

Such a great song...love the lyrics and music!!
Where's the accordion?????
Awesome Chris and band!
WOW! this is fabulous ! How very wonderful !!! Thank you, thank you, I needed that today!
Well done!
nice song. I like the blend of instruments and vocal.
You DO care! You got the correct chord in the bridge, where it drops down to the C chord. Most covers don't do that. I don't think they hear it properly and just repeat the 2 chords of the verse. Good work.
Wanted to add, Best version of this song ive heard yet sung from the heart. And comes over real and played in the right setting.Bet theres a tale to tell behind this one. Eat your heart out john Prine emmyloo harris Guy Clark. And Verlon Thompson
very cool and refreshing.
Great keep on making music like this, Thanks you
Lovely and forlorn. Thank you for sharing this.
Good job ladies
