Inspired by albums such as Joe Zawinul’s 1971 self titled record, and films such as Marathon Man and Three Days of The Condor, 'The Atrium' is a nod to saturated sounds from the early 1970s, while referencing brass and woodwind sounds from some of the most acclaimed films of that period. This is the second single released by London artist Robohands in 2024, with five musicians in total featuring on this track. Mixing performed by Shawn Clendening (Chicago, IL) and mastering performed by Goncalo Peixoto (Lisbon, Portugal).

This track was recorded in my flat, using brushes on the hi hats and tapping the snare with the other hand, one overhead mic and a mic inside the kick. Kind of a lo-fi experiment. The guitars went through an old phaser pedal. The horns are just my tenor sax played in high register and layered a few times some improv at the end of the track. Sounds weird, I hope you like it, got more stuff comin...
