Name of ikea cabinets?
Havsta I think
Havsta and Billy bookcases!
Amazing I love it. I’m doing something similar in my house
Yay! It is the best! We love ours in our girls playroom to hide all the toys!
There's a product that goes around metal poles that gives it a wood veneer. it's far more cost effective.
We enjoyed working on this project and learning how to do it, I love a good challenge! 😊
That’s not poplar it’s pine… the long miter is called a bevel, and try orienting all the boards with the long bevels facing up ( the outside of you’re boards) run tape along the length of it and then flip it over and glue it up, it’ll hold the piece together while you nail it up
Thank you so much for the info! 😊
How is it a hack?
😂😂😂😂😊
What IKEA products did you use? Thanks!
These are Havsta cabinets and Billy bookcases for the tops!
A
Did you use primer?
Yes! It is super important to use a good bonding primer! I’ve linked my favorite in my Amazon storefront under the picture of this project!
Details please 😊
This is acetone!! Simple acetone from lowes or home depot, with a brush and rag
paint
All the details are linked in my Amazon storefront for the products I used and my favorite bonding primer!
Junk
How
The key is to get correct prep and also a bonding primer! You can find my favorite in my Amazon storefront linked in my bio and more details on the prep are in the description 😊
What cabinet unit did you use from ikea?
These are Havsta cabinets for the lower portion and Billy bookcases on top
The board to help hold the beadboard, brilliant! Looks amazing
Isn’t it a simple idea! It helped so much because the board can be heavy!
Are u from Pennsylvania
No I’m sorry I’m not! 😊
It looks great! Do you have also a component-list about which IKEA furniture was used to this built-ins?
These are the Havsta cabinets and the Billy bookcases!
Looks good!!
Thank you so much!
😢😢😢 All that gorgeous wood painted over
That is beautiful!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Wath ikea kabets?name?
So sad to change the view of this chears
Spray painting dresser drawers while they are inserted? Sorry but that's just not right
The drawers are inset drawers so it is completely okay to paint while they are in. Tape off the top and sides to prevent any over spray and they will not stick since they are inset 😊
@LismoreLaneFurniture I was sue you'd answer that. And I wasn't talking about stickiness but quality of work 😊
I'd love the link, please
Great video. Which IKEA cabinet is that? ❤
These are the Havsta cabinets and the Billy bookcases!
@@LismoreLaneFurniturehey quick question, did you put the Billy bookcase upside down?
BEAUTIFUL!!😊😊
Thank you! 😊
looks AMAZING....one thing? if you do not mind a comment..still could be added...i would have put trim pieces over the open shelves(front face) to beef up the look of the shelves? or not either way looks great
That is a great suggestion as well and could totally be done! Might look at that on our next setup so thank you! ☺️
Beautiful.. can you send the details
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!😍😍😍
Thank you so much! ☺️
peel
Stains
What is it
Acetone! Just rubbed on with a brush and wiped off! 😊
Gorgeous! The blue is bold but really makes the piece pop.
Yes it is! She wanted to match her blue and white China in her home and this blue was definitely a good choice to make it pop!
Dont like color at all!!!!😮
Good thing it's not in your room :)
Loved
Thank you so much!
Noice
Thank you so much!
Brilliant job 👏
Thank you! 😊
you did an amazing job at making it look like a truly custom piece, super cool!!
Ahh thanks so much! We love the look of this hack! 😊
Gorgeous
Thank you so much!
Beautifull wath name kabinets?
These were built with the Havsta cabinets and Billy bookcases. Thanks! ☺️
Why
They were repainting the door, you can see the colors changing before and after
Put it on the end of an attachment that runs on a reciprocating/saws-all, thank me later !
Amazing result, thanks for sharing! I would like to kindly ask whether it is a project one can tackle not having a workshop with a lot of power tools, we have just very basic ones. Would also like to ask whether the Havsta units are robust (especially the shelves) and don't buckle under the weight of books. Thanks
Hi! So the biggest issue we have when installing these pieces is the slope on our ceilings! That adds a different layer of complication but if you have the height without that then it becomes very straight forward. You don’t have to add the back board either which would eliminate a step 😊 The Havsta bottom cabinets are robust for sure and hold all our books, toys etc inside the cabinets! Hope this helps, feel free to shoot me a message with any specific questions I can help you with! Thanks
@@LismoreLaneFurniture that's so helpful, thank you so much!!!
Are the top open shelves also the Havsta? Or are they Billy or something else? Tia!!!
The open top shelves are Billy Bookcases and the bottom are the Havsta cabinets! 😊
Gorgeous ❤
Strip
Doesn't a wire brush scratch up the wood?
Strip
when you painted the Havsta, did the primer and paint COVER that Wood grain look on the Havsta Cabinets? This way the finish across all the unit looks Uniform
@@IknowImNotCrazyYoumightbe yes! Everything was painted with the exact same primer and paint so everything was uniform looking straight across. No difference in them!
garbage
Great job!
Thank you!
